The top 0.01% are able to exert more and more influence over the world, and are using it to concentrate wealth even more into their own pockets.
And regular people have access to smartphones that allow them to communicate worldwide instantly. The cost of more basic smartphones has plummeted, so more people have more cameras connected straight to social media.
But it's also that some things are genuinely worse. I am fairly sure that there are still more slaves alive today than at any other point in history. However as a percentage I believe it's lower, it's just due to the world population being so high.
Nothing too special, just had to do some fiddling to get the Apache reverse proxy working correctly. Now I believe they have a pre-made example for it, but back then they only had nginx. I stick with Apache because that's still what I know. Might start learning nginx, but my main work isn't in web stuff.
Mine is nice and quick in regards to the web interface and general functions. However I run it on a server at home and my upload speed isn't the best, so if I need to pull a larger file (Files On Demand enabled) then obviously the transfer speed of the file is a bit sluggish.
Hosted on a VM with 16GB RAM, 4 cores. Using the NextcloudAIO docker deployment option, all behind an Apache reverse proxy (I have a bunch of other services on another VM that all have reverse proxy access in place as well).
Because EVERY SINGLE SQUARE INCH OF EVERY SURFACE MUST MAKE PROFIT.
I would complain and stop shopping there, and encourage others to complain as well. Hell leave the doors propped open to help people see what's inside, even though it'll run up their electricity bill and spoil the contents. Aslo remember to bring in one of those window-cracker car safety things and have a go at breaking the screens if you want to be even more rebellious.
Of course. The point of this program is not to allow repairs or upgrades. It's so Apple can say "you don't need a right to repair act that effects our products, look, we already have a repair program!"
Of course this happens. The exact same bullshit happens with abortions as well, they just call the procedure something else (I forget what, basically sounded like cleaning out the lining?). When asked why they go "my case was a special case, it was the only legitimate abortion ever".
But back in my university days (holy shit I feel old, that was around 17 years ago), when flash drives were still new ish technology. I had installed a Linux live cd, which was a brand new idea back then, on my USB stick that also contained a bunch of my files.
I thought it would be a fun idea to rm -rf / to see what it would do to a live cd environment.
Then I realised it was not a fun idea as I started to see the names of my project documents being deleted.
Sadly true. However given jury selection is a thing, you can bet that prosecution did their best to weed out any overly biased jurors.
I mean, nothing is perfect (it's humans all the way down, and humans are flawed), but for a trial like this you can bet both sides went over everyone with the biggest magnifying glass they could find.
Attack surface is the ports and services you are exposing to the internet. Keep this as small as possible to reduce the ways your setup can be attacked.
Network topology is the layout of your home network. Do you have multiple vlans/subnets, firewalls that restrict traffic between internal networks, a DMZ is probably a simple enough approach that is available on some home grade routers. This is so if your server gets breached it minimises the amount of damage that can be done to other devices in the network.
For the memory of it. Even with the face covered it can be a nice reminder in 50 years after they dodge AI hunter killer drones when trying to scavenge a tin of food from the wasteland. during a family reunion.
Oooh the registry is even more fun.
