They may win the award for worst designed flat pack I've ever experienced. Multiple screws with a hex fitting recessed into the wood so you can't get tools into them and can only turn a hex key less than a quarter turn before having to reposition. Plus a couple of instructions that were physically impossible. I had to make a few alterations to make it possible to get them together, but I think they are done solidly enough. The quality of the actual components is good and I like the overall design, but actually putting them together was definitely not something I'd want to repeat.
Still far too many boxes to unpack, unfortunately. I'm hoping I have enough of the funiture assembled and positioned now that I can focus on the actual unpacking and sorting.
I've just put together the small bookshelf I bought for the lounge room, now I just need to summon the energy to do the bedside tables and I'll be done with flatpacks. Tomorrow I'll be taking the polystyrene to the recycling centre and finalising the stuff at my old house. Then I'll be able to fully focus on the unpacking and sorting here.
porridge eaten, dog walked, two loads of washing on the line drying, cat cuddles underway. Today is going fairly well. Except for my grinder dying (with a minor smell of electrical burning just to be dramatic). I shall have to order a new one.
Things have been achieved today. I have changed the sheets on the bed. I have organised a rubbish collection for the last of the stuff at my old place. I have changed the date of my upcoming rental inspection. I have cooked soup and have yellow chicken curry on the stove now. The pet's water bowl has been thoroughly cleaned. I have done the vacuuming and just need to do a bit of a mop and clean the sinks etc. and the cleaning to do list should be done. I think I'm even going to have enough time to do a bit more sorting / unpacking.
I'm now curious how the whole cat thing went down. Did you kidnap a random cat and now don't know who it belongs to? Did you have a delusional moment where you thought you found a cat but it turned out to be a pair of balled up socks in reality?
I was with you for the first two ingredients, the last two I'm not fond of. But if you are not an anti-legumist like I am it would be a very nice soup. And it is definitely the weather for it.
I have some of their pastes to make chicken curry tomorrow - I can't remember which one I picked now, I think I might have gone yellow curry. I haven't had one for ages and am looking forward to it.
I am celebrating after finally sorting out my budget/finances for the end of year yesterday. I used the "I'm in the middle of moving" excuse to push things off for far too long.
It's the Rome bedside table from B2C Furniture. It does not come in black, but the Paris bedside table does.
