I think what often works for me is switching proton, but it's something specific - I think it's set the proton to one that works in desktop then change it to a different proton, but don't test it and it works in game mode. I forget where I got that.

Those feel different. One is active hate towards others (that's the point of it), and the other is doing/using something you enjoy that happens to negatively affect others. They may be adjacent, but not the same.
