Rust is terrible to read. Java is easy if you name your functions and variables correct.

Java is already mature enough and i dont think the current smaller-medium instances experience that lemmy is on 100% cpu allways, so we can expect that it is a bit less optimal, but not before 5% cpu and after it 100% cpu, lemmy is a mess in performance, 0.18 instances gets ddosed by dead 0.19 instances, that retry always failed federation. So lemmy itself is the danger here.

That is true, if you develop your java application correct, then you have no issues of any kind.

In terms of maintainability its an upgrade. Can you read the code from the current lemmy as a non rust coder? no. Now look into any file in sublinks can you read that? Probably yes.

Maintainability is gained too with the more possible contributors that have more knowledge about java and can improve more and more the code

For me i dont see any gains in popularity. Java IS popular right now, not in 10 years. Java is mature enough.

Sublinks will be scalable, so every instance with any size can just scale to their need.

Java is an good old joker. You can use that perfectly almost everywhere. Everyone knows it, understands it and its readable. Because of it, Sublinks can get more developers into the project and develop the project more quicker and there are more eyes looking over the code. In comparison lemmy has active like 3-4 active developers. Sublinks is currently at 5-6 active and 10 at their peak. And every developer can learn java quicker than the hipster language rust.

It will have its own UI too, but sublinks will aim to support the lemmy apps.

It will take surely minimum 1 hour for us probably just because the database migrations and moving our automation.

Just there are new bugs and issues but they can be easily fixex

Every laptop manufacturers sell linux laptops they just dont know it.

Framework is a bit different, it has direct support for their hardware drivers on many linux distros and endorses linux to be installed on their laptops.

If beeing active community is a shitpost galore, then i dont want to be part of that. And double not if its in the wrong community.

Or just use a easy to use linux distro and you have less headache than that.

3 days is not that long. And like said before, he and you should think about mods and admins, that get spammed with bad stuff all day long to see shitposts in the wrong community.

Then he should not spammed a community full of shitpost.

He should have went to the shitpost community. We will not reduce the time or unban him, he should think about the moderators or admins that you were spamming full. You including, i didnt banned you because i didnt saw you as the leader, you were just jumping ship.

Next time he should double think about shitposting a community full.

I think, when will lemmy pop up as a "Competitor" to reddit on wikipedia

and a big camera staring at you. If i am wanting to get watched while i program then i can stream and make money through that.
