Yeah indeed, the paper bags are more polluting to produce than its plastic equivalent. The many problem with plastics is that it does more damage when it ends up in nature, but it is recyclable though.
We should stop blaming the people/consumers and start blaming the large corporations that dump PFAS in our drink water supply, like they did here in The Netherlands and Belgium. That does lore harm than the plastic straws ever did
why would Turkey want it? More people will flee the country to other European countries, EU multinationals will compete the living shit out of the local companies. I don’t see much benefit for Turkey to join, while they are this economically weak (no offense)
Als Omtzigt een partij begint, stem ik blind op hem. Maakt mij niet uit of hij links, rechts, boven of onder is. Hij heeft laten zien dat hij kritisch is en het beste voor heeft met het land, dat is een norm die we van politici mogen verlangen, maar wat we te weinig krijgen
D66 ziet er ook niet solide uit, enige tijd geleden al conflict in se partij met dat misbruikschandaal en de bedreigingen aan het adres vaan Kaag lijken haar ook te laten twijfelen.
Het lijkt een grote reset te worden, iets wat NL m.i goed kan gebruiken
It's not just about money, it's about workforce. Imagine being in a nursery, without nurses available. As for the money, you cannot expect society to pay for a specific standard of living for too long. The workforce must support the people that are not working. Now that we are getting older on average, it would mean that the workforce will have to support more non working people. Imagine that you retire at 60, but people now live on average to 80, which is increasing every decade now
There are really only two options here, increase retirement age, or increase taxes on the workforce. Take your pick.

Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I think this should apply to everyone. It is good practice to give your new relationship some time before jumping in the marriage boat.
Yeah they are really showing the government ... I feel sorry for the innocent people that lost so much due to this "protest". People's cars burned down, family owned businesses had their shops looted and cannot make any money for the next couple of weeks, people relying on public infrastructure cannot use it.
You are aware that the shops and infrastructure they are destroying have no influence on social security nor policy, right? You are also aware that most shops are family owned businesses that already struggle to make ends meet, and face similar issues as the people rioting? There are ways to protest and revolt against a government, that don't include stealing or breaking public infrastructure. I don't get why people think stealing is warranted when you tag protest on it.
Watching from a far (The Netherlands), it always amazed me how the political scale in the US is described. Even the democrats in the US feel more to the right, then positioned in the US. Some people go as far to call democrats communist, but I don't think these people know what communist really is, in the same way that Americans don't seem to know what (neo)liberal actually is. It is both entertaining and concerning to watch.
I hope AI can soon fix this, that we can record everything in wide format, and that AI cuts it down to various screen sizes. I dislike VVS, but I can also imagine watching landscape content in portrait is also annoying.

It won’t, because AI will generate based on existing content, but will not make something new
