The right sync is actually an excellent backup, and compliments other methods (like local storage) quite nicely.
Any worthwhile sync will delete to a recycle bin and support versioning of files.
A bad actor would have to have account level access to dump the recycle bin, which proper use of MFA can limit in the majority of cases.
A sync will also make it easier to propagate files to an offsite copy, as you can have a connected device in a separate location.
One of the most important aspects in backups is convenience. Anything that is a task or chore risks getting put off - I see it all the time.
I’d rather edit every single post / comment to say “Fuck u/spez” but I don’t know how to use the API to do that and I don’t have the time to commit to that project :/
OpenCore Legacy Patcher, Linux, ChromeOS Flex, and maybe even Windows 10 could all be options for that Mac.
As-is ot would still be perfectly safe to use offline too.
Is this update completely broken for anyone else on iPad?
iPadOS 16.5.1(c)
I can’t scroll more than 5 posts without getting a blank feed and crash, buttons are often unresponsive, and I couldn’t even navigate over to this community.
iPhone with iOS 16.5.1(c) seems totally fine with the update.
