  • Follow the money. It goes from the wealthy to the government (taxes), to us to the wealthy through our purchases.

And right now it goes from the poor to the government (taxes) to the wealthy, and we don't get fuck all.

You're saying you'd rather have nothing than have something.

  • I can't find it now, but there is an Existential Comic that addresses this attitude perfectly. The philosopher is talking about how he always has some form of freedom, so he gets chained to a wall in a dungeon, and then he says "at least I still have the freedom to interpret my situation!"

  • Most commercials I'd see would be billboards EVERYWHERE in the real world when I lived in Mexico (seriously, Mexican government, please do something about this, it's beyond bad there) but now here in Canada, it's mostly pretty quiet and nice.

Unless you're going through a native rez, then there's billboards EVERYWHERE because allowing them to put up ads that are illegal for everyone else counts as reconciliation, I guess.

  • It will be stronger than a normal coffee, but it still won't have any caffeine.

There is a distinction between flavor and caffeine content. Decaffeinating does change the flavor but that doesn't mean you can't make it strong.

  • How much is that expressed as percentage of his total wealth?

A quick search revealed $185b, which is probably his net worth and not his total wealth, but we'll go with it:

    8.3 / 185 * 100 = ~4.49%

For reference, I paid over 20% of my total wealth last year.

So I actually paid more than 4x as much tax as Musk did, relative to the amount of wealth we have.

  • If all previous experiences are negative and the actual definition seems outlandish, that's a valid opinion. It's not your fault if you never learned of non-negative examples.

Starting this with a /s just be clear this is a parody of your position:

"All my previous experiences with trans people have been negative, and the idea of a person with a penis being a woman seems outlandish."

Is that still a valid opinion?

  • That's the requirement to report the production of plastic products by plastics manufacturers, not a requirement for companies to recycle.

It does say retailers (why is it limited only to retail companies?) will be incentivized to recycle. But it doesn't say there any requirement to do so.

Also this article is typical in that it only gives the highest level overview of what the concept is, and doesn't provide any details on how companies would be held accountable.

It also doesn't mention whether there are or will be any exceptions made to these rules for the big companies. Billionaire business owners love lobbying for exceptions, and politicians love giving them out, because they can point to the regulations the made and tell citizens what a great job they're doing while still pleasing their masters donors.
