  • There is a design flaw with the Vertical. Logitech, like with other mice, use the wrong switches in it. The mouse operates at very low voltage and current; lower than what the switches are rated for. This leads to corrosion building up on the metal switches, leading to incomplete/missed clicks, phantom double clicks, or impossible to hold a click.

Wow that is a major screw up. Probably part of the planned obsolescence though.

  • That's not what was said though. They didn't talk about the concept, they spoke about the Olympics. They straight out said:

The Olympics are one of the best things humanity does. ... the Olympics are one of the only times the whole world comes together to at least attempt to do something positive.

Which is objectively untrue. It is not a global positivity exercise; it is not the world "coming together". That's just their marketing bullshit.

It is just a business that profits off people without compensating them.

  • the guy who'd been running the project had been offered an exciting new opportunity at some other company and we all wished him the best.

Must be nice to be so privileged he can be a complete fuckup and not even get fired for it. Everybody agrees to use euphemisms to not hurt his feefees because he's just too rich and special to have to be embarrassed.

  • Dang I was hoping there was something you could tell me.

Pinetime (or timeline, can't remember which) might suit you, but I don't think it's ready for me. I don't want another tinker device, I want something that just works, but I also don't want a corporate spy device. I think I'm outta luck until pinetime is complete.

  • No, my salary didn't go down, relative to inflation.

I'm calling bullshit on that one.

Everybody's salary except executives has gone down relative to inflation going all the way back the the 80s.
