  • OP wanted less drama, reporting people seems like it will have precisely the opposite effect, even if it may be the right thing to do.

  • It seems crazy that intel were forced into a full recall by the backlash over the FDIV bug in the 90's, but now they get away with far worse.

  • I personally find it quite easy to differentiate between different artificial sweeteners.

I also used to be on a medication with a mild interaction with phenylalanine, which is in aspartame, so I could tell if I drank something with that.

  • Because most soft drinks replaced the sugar with artificial sweeteners.... No real sugar allowed for the proles.

  • Didn't he close source a bunch of the parts to his newest printer?

  • It was the original home 3d printer, but it kinda got overtaken by cheap mass produced printers. Prusa was originally a member.

  • That's never really been an issue with HDDs as far as I'm aware, although 10k rpm drives were known to be more fragile IIRC. The lower life and robustness of QLC vs SLC flash is well known.

  • Generally the more layers you add to an SSD the less robust it is. If this is real your data will be corrupt within a week.

  • The cryo companies can't easily go bust, one of the reason it costs so much is they purchase a perpetuity to cover the cost forever.

I looked into doing it myself, it's not out of reach for normal people if you pay for it using life insurance.

  • I'm not sure there's another term for "sold well" that doesn't also imply people liked it.

Alternatively they could just be calling them plebeian.

  • I'm not right wing, but I'm in a few more "free speech" nerd groups where there's a decent number of right wingers, I've never heard of either of those, so I can't really comment about the specific examples.

With any of these thing's I don't think it's a homogenous group though, you can usually separate them into certain subgroups:

    • People that are really into a setting and will complain about any minor detail being changed. They'll complain about a character's hair or nail polish colour being changed just as much as their skin colour. IMO these are usually the majority.
    • Actual racists. Not much more to say here.
    • People who will complain about anything. They changed something? it's ruined; they kept something the same? it's ruined.
    • Grifters. Just wants to get money and attention from youtube, will latch on to any criticism of anything if they think an hour long rant video about how "woke ruined x" will get them views. The minority, but by far the loudest. Often overlaps with 2 and 3.

So out of those, 2, 4 and sometimes 3 will still be complaining about new settings that are perceived as "woke".

  • I'm still using the same model M I bought about 15 years ago

  • Ghost's architecture still seems weird to me. It lacks a plugin system so this (and anything else you would normally want as a plugin) has to be an entirely separate server that requests are proxied to by nginx.

  • I guess they have to do something with all the crashed planes.

  • Interesting, I know they used to sell special thin airmail paper for international letters, so it makes sense.

  • Google: "how dare someone else be better at ruining the internet than us"

  • Snake oil from Chinese water snakes may actually have some effect on conditions like arthritis because it contains large quantities of omega 3 fatty acids. Most of the "snake oil" sold in the west was fake and just mineral oil, or sometimes rattlesnake oil.
