  • Am I the only one reading the lower most left one as bidet?

  • I would keep it so someone else can find it when searching for the same thing. I’d just add [Solved] or similar to the title

  • That is the overview of your subscribed communities. To view all communities press on search and then explore, and for the lokal ones press the globe on the explore page and select lokal

  • For the first part, you can find new communities on the search tab either by searching for one or using the explore, the random community or by visiting a trending community. Then on the community page press the three dots and select subscribe

For the second part, if you are missing some communities it is a specific decision by your instance. What communities are missing on what instance? Optimally you should be able to use a instance that has all of the communities you want.

  • As I understand google is only prohibited from doing so because they are a monopoly and this would be abuse of their position, so smaller engines should be unaffected. For example, if I recall correctly, bing pays Vivaldi to be the default.

  • The problem is this isn’t the same for every distro and sometimes different versions of the same distro. Also sometimes you have multiple options to do the same thing. There isn’t really a definitive answer, so one would need to know your situation to answer this

  • Does this work like SillyTavern or what is the idea? Does it support SillyTavern Characters?

  • I really like the idea of a landlord devil.

  • It had a verified version on flathub

  • I think the fediverse does have a privacy problem, however as long as your account can’t be linked to you (malicious instance, your email being breached) it doesn’t matter all that much (at least for my threat level) because the info is confined to the fediverse, where little can be done with it, especially if you swap instances/accounts commonly. Yes, one could create a profile on you based on what you upvote/downvote, but they can’t for example use that to serve targeted ads, because the fediverse doesn’t have a ad network and when visiting other sites they can’t associate your profile with you (assuming you don’t reuse your username), unless I am forgetting something.

tldr: The fediverse isn’t private, but the data is practically useless

  • Which clients do you recommend for IOS?

  • How it works: I don’t know about this service in particular, but usually the shared contains the encryption key so like this: example.com/files/file_id/encryption_key or something similar

As for trust: This appears to be a individual, so you will have to just trust it when using the public instance. However, since it is FOSS, you can audit the code and spin up your own instance

  • Damm I never considered that. I always thought it was a drink

  • Privacy wise it very much is still Firefox with different defaults (telemetry disabled, do not track enabled), the changes to upstream are mainly the UI and some performance enhancements

  • I looked at the rules and it says:

    Labeling not required:

Streams containing informational or educational content that aim to share knowledge in a neutral, fact-based manner, rather than engaging in any kind of advocacy for an issue or candidate. For example, sharing the history of how votes in the US presidential election are counted to determine the next President, or merely encouraging individuals to vote or register to vote.

So saying for example Trump is a homophobic fascist should be allowed
