  • You can stop pretending, everyone knows who the true leaders are:

  • Apparently not:

"I have had plenty of people message me and even make issues on my GitHub asking for some insane crazy WikiTok algorithm," Gemal told Ars. "And I had to put my foot down and say something along the lines that we're already ruled by ruthless, opaque algorithms in our everyday life; why can't we just have one little corner in the world without them?"

  • Depending on how lightweight you need I’d either use Linux Mint XFCE, which would be slightly less lightweight but very easy and well documented or AntiX which as lightweight as it gets but may require a bit more getting used to

  • For me it’s usually the other way around

  • One feature I’d like to have is the option (maybe a setting) to recover text when commenting and then pressing as sometimes I reply to a comment and then want to read the original post again.

Thanks for making this app, it has been the Lemmy app I’ve tried by far

  • IIRC it uses BitTorrent (like Peertube), so your IP address will be shared

  • Let me say this: this isn’t about Hawaiian pizza (not a big fan), but rather about a pizza from some local pizza place with chicken, curry and small amounts of pineapple. Very tasty

  • I think Orwells Animal Farm describes the current situation in the US better. There might be less communism but some things (like the TikTok ban) seem to be stolen directly from the book.

  • Maybe you would have a better experience if you stopped calling people retards

  • The Lemmy account has to follow the Pixelfed account that is going to post to Lemmy

  • Pixelfed does videos to, and I think federation with loops is planned

  • It acts as a Instagram replacement (but is actually about photos and not videos)

  • IIRC it’s because there is a pseudo monopoly for the power lines which can increase prices for using them and the price for electricity orients itself on the most expensive form of electricity (coal I think), so the price benefits of renewables only benefit the seller and not the buyer
