  • We all know the importance of interpretative charity in online discourse.

Ehee, I think some critters missed the memo. I've struggled all my life trying to get people to understand me but somehow people often seem (to me, at least) to make mind-pretzels instead of trying a "charitable" interpretation. I've always felt like many just want to lash out and hurt others, even when there's a perfectly reasonable interpretation that takes less effort to make.

    mumblegrumble, et cetera

  • Am just here to represent Team Interactivity in the apparent war versus Team Animate the Background Mechanics 😛 swipes the dice and uses them for a lockpicking minigame 😈

  • This person(?) does seem to like filling my front page with blind links :-\ I don't really like blocking people(?) here but ugh, I'm not gonna go check a dozen pages a day just to find out what they are. ... Actually this one seems to have taken over posting a link to every post from a particular news site after I blocked the last one. Dunno why any community needs that, the site itself surely has them all better presented.

Whatever, let's see if another one pops up 🤷

  • Nooooo! Haskell .^ And a little Forth. Hopefully some assembly someday too.

  • :3c I wonder how installations of this tool correlate with purchases of long, cute socks 😹

And cat ears, and nyaaa~ing, and... uhhh whatever else 😅 🤷

  • I'm a weird critter and play things differently from most, I think 😅 My greatest fun tends to be alting hard, trying nearly every imaginable build. Beat up the same jerkwad thirty times just to try out all' the toys, that kind of thing :3 I did get annoyed at having to wait for the map to open up but I replay beginnings so many times anyway... 🤷 I wanna go back to CP77 pretty badly, too 😅 Am stuck on a laptop that I can't imagine running it playably but even just driving around was fun for me. Helped me through a rough patch a night or two, actually.

Also liked how well-done the story bits felt, though maybe that's partly because I was told they're really good and just expected them to be 🤷 I do remember some bits fondly, though.

  • Wow, so many posts 😵‍💫 Sooo I think I'll be the one to mention Elder Scrolls Online .^ I've got 1800 hours in that and miss it pretty bad v.v Am stuck on a laptop that can't run it (nor much else) playably :-\ Anyway, it's got many things to do. Three faction storylines, lots of side stuff (everything can be played at any level; people will take low-level characters into Trials and not even worry about it), crafting, character build funs deeper and more interesting than they seem, just plain wandering around peekifying all' the Elder Scrolls places... Idunno, it just somehow kept me of all critters hooked for quite a while, which is very odd. I tend to get bored of things realquick 😅

I only have 800 hours in it but I suppose I can second (or, well, nth) Warframe? 😅

  • trying to destroy all type of emulation for Nintendo consoles

Only emulation used by others. They're happy to kang all' the ROMs and emulators off' a site before destroying it for everyone else, then not even sell most of the damn things. Absurd. There's nothing good about that, not even for Nintendo themselves.

  • All in all, this kind of in-fighting among leftist game developers is something that was actually parodied in Disco Elysium, making the situation all the more ironic.

The article's author put politics into your video games news, not me. Not that I'm at all sorry: those who want to bury their heads in sand shouldn't peek out and get upset at the world for still being present. I want out too but I've not got nearly enough privilege to pretend "this is fine" except for people talking about it.

  • The left eats the left because we are delicious ;3

I don't really know what's going on here nor whether anyone involved is actually a leftist; I just wanted to spew some wordplay :3

  • I think it's totally okay to ban you for crap like that. Maybe that's why nobody makes me a mod any more 🤔

    Anyway, you're a transphobe.

  • Permanently Deleted

  • raises trans, linux-using paw .^

Thanks for bringing this to my attention :3

  • My system (a laptop, all I've got 'cause I had to skitterflee from doomness v.v ) can't run much so I'm kinda stuck at "playable" framerates on old games :-\ I kinda hate to admit it but I've been playing Borderlands 2 ... the Linux version, 'cause the Windows version, which has a bunch of patches and mod support, just doesn't run well enough for me 😭 Can't even get any DLC, though I've been really wanting to try Gaige. May be too burnt out to enjoy it any more anyway.

Before that was Titan Quest, which just doesn't really play like I wish it did. Played it a bunch anyway. Bleh.

So now I'm just sitting around trying to avoid losing my mind to boredom or despair. flailyskitters around in circles 😵‍💫

  • Crappy "family" bits feel very familiar v.v Mine always insisted that doctors are all quacks and the psych docs are the quackiest. They even seemed offended when I took a sociology elective 🙄 A few days ago was the six month anniversary of me coming to this house ( 😅 !) and I'm still learning how to live with people who aren't constantly suffocating, crushing, bleeding the life out of me.

Sorry I don't think I've got any help for you, but maybe some commiseration is nice 🤷 😅 😕 I wish you luck getting into a healthier life!

  • This article stinks of ignorance and bellendness. Complaining about "modern" or "new" terms is always a huge red flag to me, so now I have to wonder, for example, whether the The Bright Sword character referenced does in fact use she/her. Oh noes, the setting wouldn't have this one word! It does, of course, have the entirety of any English dictionary other than that word, though. Just the one is icky, like all of those pronouns the woke crowd keep _shoving down our throats! But the woke crowd don't exist in that world! The whole damn world is drastically different but this one conveniently common language is almost identical! Couldn't have been that they say "are with" instead of "have," noooo, it's one coincidentally "political" word that's gotta go. That's the one critical difference in "a fantasy setting divorced entirely from the real world" where they'd suddenly not say things the same way we would!

Does this person give a damn at all and have a crappy take, or just feel like spewing another "omfg woke newspeak agenda" wall of whinge onto... er, Forbes. Not the place I'd look first for sensible discussion of social matters. I guess a click is a click.

  • "Meh, another update post"
    ...
    "Wait, I use that. What's new?" 😅

  • Very agree here. Less and less is actually GNU, so by what metric do we have to include things? "GNU is an OS?" I'm running two at once? No, it's three, some of this software comes from BSD. Or is it more? Maybe I've got tools developed on/from/for other OSes still! Hell, I've got Windows software on this system. Gotta tell everybody I'm running GNU and Linux and BSD and Windows and (...) 🤦

    This naming "debate" is absurd.

Edit: I meant to say, it's really getting too late to push the naming issue as a means of making people recognize how much of "Linux" is GNU, considering the connections are decreasing. Even the kernel builds with clang these days, GNU tools and libs get replaced... I don't know that I'm happy about this, but it seems plausible (at a casual glance from a non-expert observer) that GNU's practically on its way out. On the other paw, I'll be glad to never hear about this naming "issue" again if everything GNU gets buried.
