Ugh, I hate this so much. I've gotten a lot of this same sort of dismissive "Yeah everybody has that sometimes" and it's... honestly made my life worse. Possibly a lot worse, considering my chance to get help came and went ages ago and now I'm a "normal" landfill inferno.

Seems like they usually leave out the "also" because apparently two things can't be bad at the same time. Wouldn't it be great to live in a world where only one thing is bad? I expect it'd be simpler, at least.

Probably because many of us have seen really snide "This is why nobody uses your stupid shitty OS!!" posts/comments so much that "Here's why people don't use Linux" for 2435808th time this month just sounds like another condescending prick come to tell us how stupid we are for using "bad" software that doesn't work like they expect it to. I see that you seem more reasonable than that but I've also seen others around here with really crappy attitudes and ideas who've maybe stirred up a bit of a defensive mood that your phrasing stepped on.

Seems like a good plan for a party whose entire thing is leading around a bunch of people who just want to inflict pain and misery. Letting them know how easy they are to dupe maybe shakes this up a tiny bit but I wouldn't put it past that lot to just yell "FAKE NEWS" and eat up the manipulations anyway.
