    unfortunately, i speak a very common language: spanish, but i also know portuguese from my dad, which i literally don’t know anyone else in my area who speaks it.

  • i totally get it. this isn’t as bad as yours but my “friend” fucked up my mental state for a while, nothing was ever good enough for them, they treated me like an animal that they could control. they’re only nice when they need attention/validation, they would act like nothing happened and that everything was fine after calling me useless just before.

  • i speak spanish, a very common language in the us. most of my friends were also spanish speakers, so we did this a lot, especially if we were discussing something personal between us, dirty, or talking about another teacher.

    obviously, we didn’t do this around a spanish teacher or a spanish-speaking one, but we did this a lot most of the time.

  • ohhh, makes sense. i meant for example, if a polish person who lived by the polish-german border ended up learning german to communicate with germans or not.

  • men jeg kan ikke si at jeg blander ikke sammen språkene. siden jeg er neurodivergent, er det tider som jeg kan ikke tenke på ordene på et språk.

    hvis jeg er på ferie med min familie som snakker spansk og noen snakker engelsk på meg, jeg er kanskje ikke svare 😅
