  • Her preventing, hindering, or delaying the lawful prosecution of someone who stole state secrets definitely fits the federal criminal code for seditious conspiracy.

  • They can and should criminally charge her if they had any fucking balls at all.

  • That was my comment. I'm both a little embarrassed that got referenced after so long, but was also impressed in the moment that someone took the time to actually understand the context in which it was made.

So, I'm torn on the issue of what the appropriate course of action would be in the instance of UniversalMonk, and when it should have been taken. I see the validity in your argument in regards to not moderating in the gray area due to the abuse & power-brokering that comes along with it.

At the same time, in order to create a healthy community long-term I think there needs to be some way to enforce a more black & white standard that dissuades people from engaging in this kind of behavior because it drives away legitimate users who care about the platform.

I don't necessarily have a good solution for that, and again I do appreciate the complexity of the situation from a moderation standpoint.

  • I mean maybe, but I think it would be pretty obvious given the nature of how and what they post.

  • If they don't reappear then I think there is a legitimate argument that it was a coordinated propaganda account.

If they do come back with the same level of veracity then I think there is merit to the potential mental illness, or neurodivergence argument.

  • I really think it all boils down to the regressive thought prison that permeates religious culture, and anything that is adjacent to it. Asmongold himself has stated on many occasions that he was raised in a Roman Catholic environment even though he personally rebelled against it.

However, when everyone you are around in society still uses the same flawed logic pathways, lacks critical thinking skills, and perpetuates the hegemonic in-group dynamics that surround that religious world-view you are still personally psychologically affected by it even if you don't subscribe to the religious component of it.

That's the even more nefarious, pernicious, and hidden damage caused by promulgating religious culture is that it makes being willfully ignorant not only permissable, but REQUIRED in order to conform to the group identity. I can see how that influence has literally broken his brain in ways he appears to not even be consciously aware of yet.

We'll see if this wakes him up, or drives him further into his echo-chamber in an attempt to avoid the painful process of overcoming cognitive dissonance. Only time will tell, but I will admit the deck is stacked against him when he has such a massive financial incentive to resist developing a more mature, nuanced worldview.

  • Personally I think he actually wants to be a decent person deep down, but the environment he built for himself has led to a self-reinforcing manifestation of the macro-scale social problems that are plaguing young men in this generation. For that reason I don't hate Asmongold because I believe he is still reachable, and has the opportunity to have a moral arc that could potentially help a lot of people if he was willing to do the work of real self-actualization.

  • You don't. The answer is always, without exception, going to be violence in the long term. It is the only permanent equalizer that is able to forcibly impose large scale social reorientation. At the most basic level the social order of government systems, regardless of form, are an agreement about who controls the monopoly on the use of violence. Given where we are currently at as a culture I don't think that bodes well for the future because we are treading a very thin line with giving inmates control of the asylum.

  • Yeah, I don't get it. I thought what he had to say was, as usual, extremely prescient. I don't see how any reasonable person would take offense to it.

  • How much do you think I get paid!?

According to the other person up the chain about 28 downvotes per hour, which I can only assume is giving you a strange mix of parasocial & psychological gratification that you clearly aren't getting from real world relationships.

  • "They" are actually getting marginally faster over time. I am going to make an educated guess that their post frequency will continue to escalate the closer we get to the election. I'll leave it open for speculation why that might be so my comment doesn't get scrubbed...

  • Be careful, I already got a warning and my comment deleted for analyzing and breaking down all of this information on another one of UniversalMonk's posts.

Apparently using math as a tool to show the objectively suspicious behavior of a user is somehow a "Rule 3 violation". Don't use your brains kids. That's against the rules!

  • If I told you stories about some of the things I've seen first hand over the years, or heard about from associates you wouldn't even believe me.

  • I would like to reiterate that A LOT of the entrenched Cannabis industry assholes that run the business are pro-Trump. I'm talking well over a majority of the most psychotic Trump supporters I know are directly involved in the interstate Cannabis market. They are even more prone to conspiracy brainrot than the average Yall'Qaeda folks.

I'm sounding the alarm for the millionth time that the Cannabis industry attracts some of the most degenerate, unethical, fucked up people into positions of power. I've said this like 10 times on Lemmy at least, and I always get downvoted into oblivion even though I have more direct experience with the Cannabis industry than 99.9999% of people on earth.

Trust me when I say a lot of these people are fully fucked in the head, and giving them legitimacy is a problem. While I am still 100% pro-legalization, I am also aware of the dark side of that equation as well. There is a lot of exploitation and evil in the industry. It needs to be unionized, and there needs to be common sense regulation that is not captured by the corporations within the industry itself.
