  • I'm similar to you, but probably not as bad. I don't often remember my dreams, or I might wake up with a fragment of a memory in my head: "Oh no! I need to let someone know the cats are playing cards in the oven!" But any of the context is lost. Also, if I don't immediately focus on that fragment and try to remember more about it, it will disappear from my mind completely.

Sometimes, I'll get a big chunk of the story, or multiple fragments that I can chain together to figure out the overall plot of the dream, but that's only a few times a year, if that.

I wish I remembered more of them more frequently. I find them very entertaining.

  • There's a big difference between a conversation online and an official competitive debate. All of your comments make me think you don't really know what arguing in good faith means.

  • This comment turns me off of the entire concept.

It's like announcing you've created a machine that can repurpose garbage and reduce waste going to the landfills, but it just spreads random garbage all over the neighborhood with the intent that the rest of us can dig through it and pull out anything that might be useful and discard the rest.

It just creates much more work for everyone else with minimal positive results.

  • If cops followed the rules and laws to the letter, then you might have something here, but they aren't "law enforcement" as much as they are "bad guy removal".

They decide who's a bad guy, and eliminate them. When little Johnny football star and his friends get caught smoking a little weed, they get a warning to straighten up and sent on their way because they aren't bad guys. But a "gang" of poor kids toking up are on a dangerous path and need severe intervention to keep them from becoming bad guys.

They decide who needs to be executed without due process, or proof of guilt. They decide that the off duty officer who can't form a coherent sentence should drive home. They decide which high profile members of the community get a "heads up call" before the search warrant arrives.

The people who make the laws can't be blamed because all of the shittiest things that make cops bastards, aren't part of the laws at all.

  • So, I dug a little bit because I was curious, and based on their responses, I think they assumed you were a bot and/or karma farmer.

Your account was less than a day old, and you dropped a story that mentions multiple controversial topics. That's exactly what someone would do if they were trying to get a lot of activity on an account fast. Hell, maybe they were right and I'm feeding the troll. But, if not, just give it a few days and join in a few conversations before posting a story and expecting it to hit the top of the boards.

  • I have no problem going to work every day if I know I can pay my bills and have some fun during my off time.

The last 12 months has been the first time in 20 years that I felt like I wasn't able to accomplish that, and it's getting worse.

And I'm content spending most of my weekends at home doing nothing, so I don't feel like that's too much to ask.
