  • Flatpaks because their updating works (compared to my experience with Appimages) and the Apps starting instantly (compared to my limited experience with snaps). But sadly, a lot of production software doesn't want to support either of this package formats? I haven't seen support from Davinci Resolve or Mari, as an example.

  • headerbars

Nothing against your personal preference but I take a good global menu integration over headerbars every single day 🙂.

  • This. KDE community seems to be very friendly and Plasma could really need a little polishing. Especially the default Breeze theme.

  • Since my instance doesn't allow porn, I have never seen weird/naughty stuff in my feed 🤷‍♂️

  • I like the overall design of the Gnome Shell (top panel) and the workflow with different workspace. I like it so much that I actually copied it in KDE. What I don't like is the look and feel of GTK apps. They're often so limited or the advanced options aren't clear at the first look.

  • Haha maybe a little too much of a 40k insider joke but holy shit it's so on point. Ultramarines... You have to love them 🙃

  • If you like Debian, then just wait for Vanilla OS. The next big release (a open beta should be out soon) will switch from Ubuntu to Debian. I will switch instantly if there's a KDE variant.

  • Blender is such a wonderful tool these days. Getting those sweet EPIC funds was one of the best things that could happen to it.

  • Maybe getting bonked is my kink? 😏

  • So far it's good and stable. But to be fair I only have it installed for about 3 weeks. Before that, I played with it in a virtual machine for a month. I decided to test it because I wanted a KDE focused Distro and OpenSuse was recommended to me. Watched this review and gave it a try. Quite happy so far but I may switch to Vanilla OS, should it get a KDE version. I ended up preferring Flatpaks anyway and a Distro that doesn't allow me to accidentally bork my system, sounds good to my causal ears 😉.

  • I usually have all windows over 2 - 3 workplaces placed. You can see which windows are open in the dock with the bars to the right from the symbol icons and I use mostly alt + tab to circle between the 3 - 4 windows per workplace. And should I really need a view of all open windows, I can move the mouse to the top right corner and activate the overview 😉

    Works for me.

  • Linux support seems to be "Maybe if we have enough money and time". So I highly doubt it but I would be happy to be wrong.

  • I'm mostly just a lurker in this community but here I go: Trans rights are human rights 👍

  • Yup a lot of the stuff he says, is true. Especially the vocal Gatekeeper minority and the problems with hardware support.

  • Not so convincing if you're just a causal user that has to trust random strangers with a unknown command that could just bork your whole OS.

  • I have those. If I squish my ear, it leaks sometimes fluid 🙃

  • I get this movie reference. We need a baseball bat and a glass of water!

  • The world of Scorn felt pretty alien and unnerving.
