Grew up with 2 passions- cars and computers. Wound up working at dealerships for 12 or so years.
One day I'd been with this dealer for about 4 years, I got passed over for a better position because "You're too good at what you do to move you out of it."
I'd been looking for an excuse to go back to computers, and that was it. Quit on the spot, took my tools home and started tech school.
Blew it all away on the last day the API for using a bot to do so still worked. https://www.reddit.com/user/Reygle
Profile's only still "active" is to watch a few places, but I'm never contributing again and I refuse to install the official app and only load the site in Firefox with an ad blocker on mobile.
Perhaps I'm missing something but I've been a Firefox user for years- at work and home. I have yet to find a website that misbehaves or under-performs.
Mayyybe a few sites here and there a fractions of a second slower or have slightly less acceleration or something that I'm just not noticing?
Without Firefox and its ??forks?? like LibreWolf, the internet would be a total Chromium monopoly at this point, wouldn't it? That would be bad..
Yeah it works- and has for quite a while. My SP3 ran Ubuntu fine back in the day, but it didn't save it from being an unservice-able piece of shit with failing hardware that overheated in 5 seconds flat.
With windows "365" on the way, celebration now would be pretty damn ironic.
