  • It's kind of funny how this blog post seems to use the same exact slop-ass language the post it's complaining about does. Well and truly dead and barren, most of the internet is.

It's like 4chan-anons recounting things and only being able to do it coherently in a greentext style.

I try to catch myself being too antagonistic or soapbox-y even on Lemmy. I hope we can keep this place interesting enough to discuss stuff on. If bots can somehow emulate really respectful but concise, intriguing and fact-based discussion then, this might be an unpopular opinion but I don't see that as too much of a problem. It's that bots have copied overused comment chains and only seem to be product shills or propagandists wrecking the space.

  • Trump and Lutnick will be turning the American economy into a Lootbox/Skinner Box economy... let the FOMO purchasing flow through you, buy buy buy before the tariffs go on again!

  • “Yeah, I voted for Trump, absolutely. Did I know he was going to increase the tariffs? Yes, I did,” he said. “However, I thought that the infrastructure would be set up prior for small business to come back to America and manufacture in America. ..."

When the fuck did Trump promise that, bozo? Small business support was the Biden/Harris campaign platform.

  • If we totally have a problem with dead people wrongly receiving benefits, then Musk's logic is we should intentionally categorize people incorrectly as dead to counteract that? Rather than ensuring the database is accurate?

  • We're very helpfully and politely reminding you that we're your friends who spend money at your attractions and your best customers that bought your stuff, by refusing to travel and buy American for now. The booking level drops and car travel drops of 70% shows Canadians banding together and acting en masse. I am out protesting too with my fellow Canadian in front of Tesla, in front of consulates and embassies, in front of city and provincial legislative buildings, and we're poised to elect someone taking a strong but measured response against Trump rather than MAGA-mini.

Your president is hurting us as Canadians, and your president is hurting you as Americans. This requires action on both our parts, but on different levels since this is an American problem. It seems like the first challenge is getting the public at large to acknowledge that this is a problem. I think the rallies across the nation are a good first step. Keep going and the next steps to action will come as you organize. (Perhaps a general strike?)

  • Canadian here. Prove all us naysayers wrong! (I'm pessimistic on America's future but I'm willing to believe there's a chance for change)

Keep going, Apr 19th, every day of action after, escalate until the country is yours again, instead of just for the billionaires, by the billionaires. Then let's talk.

  • And countries 'doing what he wants' is no guarantee that a reprieve would be any more than temporary. As soon as he feels like extorting America's partners again, or if he needs to distract from yet another one of his screw-ups, then he'll just bring on tariffs again.
