  • European opinion was further alienated in March of this year (North Americans were distracted by other events)

this North American is guilty as charged, it's the first I heard of the part below...

when Israeli forces broke a two-month ceasefire and, five days later, attacked a convoy of ambulances in Gaza, killing 15 paramedics and aid workers. When the bodies were discovered in a shallow grave days later, the IDF claimed they had approached a checkpoint with lights out, and the deaths were the result of a tragic confusion.

The IDF was forced to change its story after it was contradicted by a video on a mobile phone recovered from a first responder's body that left little doubt that the soldiers knew whom they were attacking.

If the free world isn't planning an intervention right now, I don't know in what circumstances that we should.

  • Get what you deserve by treating every foreigner like a criminal, and threatening to take over every country. The USA will be 1st in the world in the race to the bottom with this policy.

Industry stakeholders urge policymakers to reconsider travel and immigration policies that may inadvertently discourage international visitors. Reestablishing a welcoming environment...

Rebuilding confidence among global travelers, promoting diverse attractions beyond traditional hubs, and enhancing the visitor experience through innovation and inclusivity are key strategies recommended by tourism economists.

I'm no tourism economist but fat chance of that happening anytime soon while the felon is President.

  • I agree with the comment here that AI image generation is more like piracy in that you are appropriating other artists' works without their permission.

So I mean personally I agree that AI art is soulless and possibly copyright infringement but not theft, whereas for people that consider piracy theft, calling AI art "theft" is not an inconsistent or hypocritical argument, in my opinion. Machine or human doesn't make it stealing or not.

I mean even Zuck's Meta is claiming in court that they aren't stealing books when torrenting massive amounts of them for AI training, lol, so he's consistent there. But Nintendo on the other hand are probably seething at AI Nintendo art being "stolen" from them.

  • A U.S.-born citizen who was wrestled into the dirt, handcuffed and detained in a vehicle as part of an immigration raid had a REAL ID on him that was dismissed as fake, the man's cousin said Friday.

REAL ID, you had one job.

  • Depends on the configuration, but it won't explode. It may just act as if it's on low battery for a while then stop working as if the battery is drained, when the one battery might only be half drained. If it's in parallel it could work but with about half the runtime, but it would do just the same fitting just one battery in the proper orientation.

  • Residential Outlets are 120V which most household small appliances and lights plug in. Oven ranges, laundry dryers, air conditioning units use 240V. Essentially they have two inverted phases: -120V, +120V to supply 240V across the two ends, usually with a NEMA 14-30 or 14-50 type plug.

  • My standard for whether I can accept the bill is this: John Rustad were to somehow become the provinical leader the day after it passes, would I still be confident that due rights to the Indigenous and to Canadians would be respected under their rights? Or would he walk all over their rights to placate oil lobby and mining interests? I trust Eby and his government, but the laws in BC must be fair and free of abuse, and I can't give it a pass just because I like the BCNDP.
