  • This feels insulting. If there's one thing publishers shouldn't copy from every other scanlator, it's MTL (not saying all scanlation teams do, but there are too many that do). Why the hell would I pay for this.

Seven Seas Entertainment is releasing the The Ancient Magus Bride manga in English

    Why am I not surprised

  • Yeah, and soon there'll be 2 OP series that no sane person can catch up on. I think the argument that the original's too long now doesn't hold up. Because after a while, the new one also is incredibly long and the same argument can be made again for yet another remake.

  • Honestly, I think most series are better off as a TV anime, unless the source material is that short.

  • I'm not too thrilled tbh. The current OP anime is already incredibly succesful and loved. Why create a 2nd one while the 1st one is still ongoing, aside from easy money? I'd rather WIT spend their efforts elsewhere and create new anime originals or adaptations

  • Not sure if she actually ascended, as she had no choice even though she didn't want to.

  • Damn, that was sad and depressing.

    Avogado6

    Yeah that makes sense

  • When you watch anime, you can't get around CR anymore. They have exclusive licenses for the vast majority of new anime There's HIDIVE, but you'd still need CR alongside it to actually keep up with the good stuff.

  • Because Crunchyroll has a basically monopoly position and has no real need to improve their core business. Instead they expand on other things like games

  • I'm also a subscriber of Premium and have my adblocker turned on. Google still tracks you just as much as without Premium

  • Oh yeah, definitely, but the reason for it (awful production schedule), is the same

  • You say that, yet with what MAPPA did with Attack on Titan (taking their time), they got a lot of shit for it. Maybe that's a more extreme example, but still. Many anime fans don't seem to be understanding

  • Just because he has the memories of his old life

Rudeus isn't a kid who happens to have memories of his previous life. He's a 34 year old with the body of a kid (in the 1st season, way younger than 16 too), so him perving on Eris, who is physically and mentally about 10-12 years old when he meets her, is really fucking creepy. Just because he's physically younger, doesn't make it better

  • Establishing more studios could allow existing studios to invest more into quality

It could and that would be great, but I doubt that's the reason they're doing this. There are about a 100 anime this season alone (counting the current season anime on anilist). We don't need more anime, but I wouldn't be surprised if more studios, means more anime, even though they're already exhausting the talent pool, instead of the same amount or less but of higher quality.

I'd really love to be proven wrong though.

  • I feel like too many anime are coming out. Most of which are very meh or worse. Instead of establishing new studios to probably get more anime out, wouldn't it be better to cut back on the amount and focus on quality?

  • This kind of stuff is what makes the fediverse kinda annoying sometimes

  • I feel like that's more because of the more modern artstyle instead of actually making her look younger

  • I don't really see that being the case here though. In the trailer she certainly didn't move like a 3D character and I don't see it in this visual either so I'm not sure where you're getting that from
