  • You know what place is essentially just as stable and isn't suffering a catastrophic water shortage? The entire great lakes region. There isn't a valid excuse anymore for frivolously increasing the water useage in Arizona.

  • No, because I can refuse to sign the lease and I won't get put in prison for that. Swearing a compulsory oath under threat of imprisonment in a sitiation you were forced to be in isn't any kind if gesture, it's just submission to coersion, nothing more, nothing less.

  • No one gives a fuck about DeSantis, including his base. The only relevant GOP candidate is Trump. It's absolutely impossible anyone else wins the primary unless drops out, gets disqualified, or dies.

  • Maybe your tastes have just changed and developed as you got older like everyone does. Whoppers are the same shitty paper thin patties and browning, soggy iceberg lettuce drenched in half a gallon of ketchup and mayo they've always been.

  • No it isn't. Oaths aren't "grand gestures," they're just silly. This one is worse than silly; it's the rough equivalent of a school bully putting you in a headlock and not letting you go until you agree to whatever bullshit he wants from you, and beating the shit out of you if you won't.

  • Our strength is you have to proved guilty.

This just simply isn't true at all. A prosecutor just has to coerce and intimidate you into a plea deal or use unreliable and generally false police testimony to convince a group of average dipshits off the street.

  • "My desire to pretend I'm a cultured intellectual for profit is more important than the privacy and explicit wishes of a dead person who trusted me."

You have no right to anyone else's private thoughts and creations.

  • It's illegal to lie to the court. Even if all oaths weren't utterly worthless, one made under duress is inherently invalid. This one serves literally no purpose other than to psychologically dominate a person.

  • There are literally no valid, trustworthy crime statistics in the US. Police only stop people they want to stop, they more often than not lie in court to secure convictions, public defenders have obscene caseloads that leave them entirely unable to provide a competent, effective defense, and, as you said, defendants are all but forced into shit plea deals for crimes they usually either didn't commit or shouldn't be imprisoned for.

The US justice system isn't just broken, it's nearly nonexistent and should be treated as entirely illegitimate.
