  • Yeah, I mean at least the bill gates foundation does helps do some good for some people. That's a whole lot more than trump and his carnival of horrors. Billionaires shouldn't be a thing that exists though.

  • Damn, that poor kid. Massive respect to her for getting evidence, reporting it again, and getting him locked up. But what a nightmare to go through.

  • I used to have a proton jumbuck, really useful little pickup. But they're hard to find in the UK and getting parts can be tricky.

  • I used to have a proton jumbuck, it was a really handy pickup and the same size as a regular car. But it's hard to find parts for em in the UK. It's a shame there aren't many sensibly-sized pickups.

But yeah, I kind of think most people who have massive ones that only get used for school run and supermarket are knobs.

  • I know it's not cool to take the piss out of someone's appearance - but the fucker really does look like some of his ancestors were potatoes.

  • You know it was the French revolution that popularised the guillotine as a means of dealing with wealthy elites?

But yeah I don't see how Tesla is going to ever repair the damage to their image, unless they can kick musk out and that doesn't seem likely.

  • Yeah, fascism seems to be flourishing all over. I've never got the impression that France was any worse than anywhere else though.

  • Yeah, I mean who is their market now? Anyone who isn't a nazi or ignorant isn't going to want to be seen driving one. And I get the impression that right wing folks are more into fossil fuels.

  • Yeah I migrated when they did the API thing. It's quieter here, but I kinda prefer it. Welcome mate

  • I just have this feeling that someday soon we're going to look back at this time and wish we'd stood up and acted while we could. I'm not advocating murder - but we're voting in elections and having endless online discussions while the world is circling the drain.

  • I had one a few days ago for the first time in many years, it wasn't as good as I had remembered.

  • I've not played it on another platform for comparison but it seems to run great.

  • Yeah, it also puts off people like me who are crap at games but still want to enjoy them. I am in my 50s and missed a couple decades of gaming. Recently got a steam deck and been trying to catch up. Recently finished bioshock! And I'm about halfway through doom 2016, enjoying it a lot. But I know I'm shit, I'm playing on little bitch difficulty and I still got stuck on a boss for two frustrating weeks.

My point is that some of their market is going to be people like me who don't have time to put hundreds of hours into learning the mechanics but just want to have fun for an hour here or there and blow up some monsters.

  • Lol he may not actually know he's sharing these with everyone. I'm which case he's in for a disconcerting moment when he realises.

  • TBF many people are more intimidated by emails. My mum, for example, is in her 70s - she's okay with using a smartphone but she doesn't trust 'internet stuff'. Won't put her card details in, doesn't trust emails - which is fair, because a lot of emails are bullshit or scams. She grew up with telephones though and feels safer using them. Possibly why so many phone scams target older people. I've tried to educate her.

This attitude doesn't make people dumb. A bit ignorant, maybe, but I feel like 'dumb as shit' is a bit harsh.

  • Yeah that's a fair point. Thing is, I don't know what to do about this shit (Gestures to world). I used to get involved in a lot of direct action when I was younger but I'm a bit old for that now. And I can't really say that all the times I got battered by the police, arrested on airbases, shit like that - I'm not sure I made any difference at all. Some of those actions made headlines but those were mostly negative. And I know people say "Vote!" - but I do, and that doesn't seem to help either.

So yeah, sometimes I just don't use the stove for a while. I just feel a bit fuckin defeated.

  • Yeah I've had this problem recently. I bought limbo on steam to play on my steam deck. Recently realised there's an android version but it seems like to use it on my phone I would have to buy the game again on Google play. Maybe I'm wrong about this, it seems to me that once you've bought a game in one format you should be able to download it in any format.

  • Yeah, and we have inflation going on, prices are going to increase. That's not a crazy price for a game you'll enjoy for years - if it's not broken when it's released. If you pay that money and have to wait for months of patches you'd prob be a bit pissed off.
