  • As if we Swedes wouldn’t have mandatory education about the major religions of the world during school already. And I am pretty sure almost every school library carries copies of the quran, just as the bible and some other major scriptures.

  • Among the first leading paragraphs I was worried that this merely was what Bhutan claimed. That it was followed up by WWF and other organizations is great.

  • That would require an inter-instance mod cooperation. Not impossible, but between some instances it seems like the Iron Curtain.

  • This looks delicious.

Sorry for the stupid question: I know that I could search it up on the internet, but how was it a roll? Looked like folded bread/banh mi/bao with a few sauced lobster bits up on top. Was it before the pre-roll?

  • It was probably a wonderful reuse activity to create this with kids.

  • And worse than that, the article states:

Mrs Scott was unable to free herself and, as Cliff drove away, she was dragged under the Go North East vehicle and remained pinned under its rear wheels for almost an hour.

  • Very exciting.

    Phone friendlier links: Archive.ph, Archive.org

Just wish I hadn't opened that site in Safari on iPhone first, putting it in reader mode crashed it so hard I had to restart my phone.

  • Dead-easy, they aren't locked to a permanent object, just move them behind the car, and then they'll neither be stolen nor your fault if someone else parks their hoods into the bikes.

  • Another one was planned and given permission for today, Thursday, July 20th. So they were egged on beforehand.

  • This was a really interesting read.

  • Sorry, I pressed reply in Voyager, but it ended up as a comment to my post instead of a reply to your comment.

  • Considering that it is stated that it helped in earlier stages (before they took the patients off donanemab), I don’t think they got as far as claiming it halted the progress. From the article I mainly had the impression that it slowed it enough in some patients to show some progress in the research. Still, this is hopeful, considering the other options that have been available thus far.

  • I too love the Password game! Please save Paul! I truly care about him! Truly!

(Sorry, I sometimes like to post really bad comments...)

  • Interesting. For me, I could see posts but not post or comment anything at all. I ended up posting in other communities. I'll see if I get back later.

  • The papers (and magazines) mainly printed in B&W. This is, as far as I know, a professional shoot as it was done with a higher resolution than many pics from then.

The colour photos my family took from this time need to be severely colour adjusted to not look as depressing milque/grey/beige colours when we scan them.

  • "Malaco pastellfiskar" or "Malaco-fiskar" used to be a semi-popular candy, that lost their popularity in Sweden in the 1990's. It surprised me and my family a lot when we were abroad, especially in they US (and the Bahamas(!?!?)) that they'd been so popular, as we Swedes didn't like them much in general once we got more candy varieties to choose from.

I am mildly amused with the thought that anyone thought these bland, (very) vaguely fruit flavoured, gelly candies were in any way something that was appreciated in Sweden once we could get international imports.

  • For some reason, I've been unable to post or comment to !sweden@lemmy.world since about a month ago. I made some posts, but then I couldn't. At first, I thought it was a bug, then I thought I was shadow banned (mailed the mod and checked just to be informed that they didn't ban me in any way), then I thought it was a bug again. A few days ago, I just gave up on posting there, as Lemmy just stalls irregardless of what client I use with this account.

I'm encouraging people to go to !stockholm@lemmy.world , but it seems it's mainly me and a couple of other users that peruse it at all. If that sub doesn't pick up, I'll ghost it as well, which would suck as I think we have a lot of info to share among one another and with tourists/interested parties.
