  • Needs a none option for base

  • Oh I misread.
    Are you using Android 10+ and the op isn't?

  • As best I can tell, Mull is us.spotco.fennec_dos, so on that list.
    Mulch is likely us.spotco.mulch based on mulch webview being us.spotco.mulch_wv, neither are on the list.

    My interpretation here is that Mulch uses some other system, perhaps that mentioned api or something else entirely. Therefore it needs no explicit mention and just works. It might be that it previously did not support that system, or bitwarden didn't, but somehow now it does.
    On the other hand, Mull still requires the manual compat lsit for whatever reason, therefore now in ironfox you run into that issue. In Mull it was likely solved before you ever used it.

  • Maybe bitwarden has a hardcoded list of browsers and defaults to the app id otherwise? There could also be an override, but if not you'd have to open an issue with bitwarden and wait for them to update their list.

    Edit:
    Looking into the code there is indeed a hardcoded list.
    This file contains the code

    // Docs state that password fields cannot be reliably saved in Compat mode since they will show as
    // masked values.
    bool? compatRequest = null;
    if (Build.VERSION.SdkInt >= BuildVersionCodes.Q && fillRequest != null)
    {
        // Attempt to automatically establish compat request mode on Android 10+
        compatRequest = (fillRequest.Flags | FillRequest.FlagCompatibilityModeRequest) == fillRequest.Flags;
    }
    var compatBrowser = compatRequest ?? CompatBrowsers.Contains(parser.PackageName);

    I read this as:
    There are browsers that do "native" autofill and ones that do "compat". Mull and ironfox do compat.
    This compat support is communicated on Android 10+, but either on older android or maybe if the app is built for older android (?) it won't be communicated, thus the hard coded list.

    Doesn't look like there is a way for users to add to this list.

  • They probably mean forwardable ports, i.e. have isp-related problems with hosting servers.
    Syncthing doesn't need you to host a server, it can hole-punch right through the worst cgnats.

    Might also be intermittent syncing only when ops machine is running.

  • Fixed a mediawiki maintenance script via a 2 char change last week.

  • I see no webview anymore, mulch was the last one I am aware of.

  • Where do I find a version of half decent, and how do they compare?

    range(val) iterates from 0 to val-1, so the final i+1 is val

  • They did this exact thing for csam detection a while back, and were made to stop due to public outcry.
    It might have been analyzed locally and before encryption then though, still however without consent of the user and sending problematic results to apple.

    It is very realistic that here they would make the device decrypt and check the description against a database and make it send the file and description off for reporting when a match is found.

  • utilman.exe -> cmd.exe

  • stage3-amd64-systemd-20220904T170535Z.tar.xz

  • Was a week when I did it some years ago.
    The account is tied to your sim, you effectively confirm it by them forcing you to do the process over mobile data.

  • They make you associate the device with a functional sim by forcing you to do the process over mobile data.
    Presumably they take all the sims IDs, effectively making the limit 1 device per year per unique phone contract including data.
    Going by my experiences with prepaid contracts (which got canceled due to low usage) I'd estimate that creates costs of 20€ per unlock in my region.

  • online via a mobile data connection no less, presumably to allow them to reliably associate the imei to you.

  • If that is true, how does the brain work?

    Call everything you have ever experienced the finite dataset.
    Constructing your brain from dna works in a timely manner.
    Then training it does too, you get visibly smarter with time, so on a linear scale.

    No idea what that means

    "sockpuppet investigations" page instead so you can look into it further by yourself

    I don't see how that is related. I am by no means a wikipedia expert but reading that article and some of the linked investigations it all seems mundane to me.

    tbh this response seems kinda shitty to me. You originally said "[Wikipedia] has a despicable procedure where they dox details of anyone whom they deem as alleged vandals.". I interpret this as a systemic issue (procedure, they) which happens regularly or always (procedure, anyone). It makes me imagine a wiki page "Vandalism cases on wikipedia" containing a table of cases with date, article, edit, and IP/account, existing for months or years frequented by wikipedia mods and admins.

    I interpret your response now as 'there is info but it is private and part of ongoing investigations'.
    If it was a larger issue there should be evidence. After all doxxing is precisely about making something publically available.
    My interpretation now is that this is a small thing which either happened in the past or is unknown?

    Can you please be specific about what you are referring to? And even without giving evidence, at least clarify what you aledge wikipedia or admins or anyone else did here?
