Why do banks require "safety"net on their apps now? The safest roms specifically don't have the security nightmare that is google play services, and banking apps are always the hardest to get working.
It is a symbiotic relationship. Regulators hear about the next wave of compromised online banking, add some law requiring whatever, banks are stuck having to comply and in comes google with "Hey this great webDRM/safetynet/playprotect totally complies with this", which it doesn't really but google has the capabilities to lock up any legal processes about it for years when they bring in the next thing and repeat. Banks in large part know it's bullshit but don't care, they're off the hook (They are the ones doing 2 factor by making the banking app on your phone require a confirmation in your tan app on your phone to make a transaction, they don't give a rats ass about the safety of their systems).
Banks get someone shielding them from regulations for cheap, google gets partners that can help them lock you in their proprietary system, and you get extra work on your rooted phone and can't fully remove play services.

I have the extension "Old Reddit Redirect" in my firefox mobile. You need a version with custom addon collections enabled (beta or a fork like fennec on fdroid), then you can install every addon by adding it to your collection, and most of them work.
If RES or an equivalent addon could produce a good mobile layout you could use them in the same way, but I don't know about that.

Some other unofficial Firefox builds enable it too. I recommend Fennec on F-Droid, which has some minor privacy improvements and otherwise mirrors the release build, not the beta build.
Use android dev or a fork like Fennec, set your own addon collection, then install any addon on mobile by adding it to your collection. Bit more annoying than it should be, but once set up allmost as convenient as on desktop

Swipe is different to gboard, but imo better. gboard tried some things with snapping to certain parts, but I always found it unintuitive, it mostly got in my way. Florisboards swipes are more "plain" as in that I find them very predictable.
You can add a permanent number line. It also won't vanish on random inputs like gboards does. Clipboard has arbitrary history size, and is also available everywhere (It annoyed me to no end to not have it for password fields in gboard).
Dictation is quick, it will switch the keyboard, but not the screen. To continue typing you need to press one button to return the keys.
With the symbols and layouts you have far more choices. I could have 1-1 recreated my gboard, but I found an even better layout (still need to readjust to it tho).
