  • ???? The USA could of absolutely kept pushing east but didn't because it still had all of its forces divided on 2 fronts. If you count just the European theatre, yeah Russia had more tanks and men but they were also being supplied by the Americans. Americans stop supplying war material and SU has to scramble to fill the voids ala now in Ukraine "Special Operation" war. Would it have been a slam dunk easy victory? Absolutely not, but considering the state of everyone's shit like factories, useable materials, and population loss, America comes out on top every time. If America had attacked the Russians afterwards there is a real possibility the Soviet Union collapses just under its own population drain. By the end of the war SU lost an estimated 8-10 million soldiers and an estimated 24 million civilians. Not to mention having their future soldiers grow up on malnutrition diets. America had also been full steam ahead war manufacturing shit for 5+ years at that point while the SU barely got its factories back up in 42/43 from the initial Nazi invasion.

I'd love to see your evidence though that American Companies kept trading with Germany after the attack at pearl harbor and the subsequent declaration of war by Germany in 1941.

  • I made a post like this sentiment elsewhere in this thread but I agree 100%. I was kinda forcing my way through some parts because I was just barely interested enough to continue. Then I had a few ohhh shit moments like taking over my first varuhn great serpent fanatic pirate ship and some of the UC Vanguard missions. I don't know how they could improve/streamline it but they should work on it for sure.

  • At the very least just lower the voice volume of companions in sneak even if it's lazy fix. I don't need breathy whispers in my ear for funny or throw away dialogue. But that's just my thoughts maybe other people are different.

  • I can echo that sentiment. The MQL starts really slow and has a lot of exposition overlord as is normal for Bethesda games. Once I started doing side missions for the UC Vanguard and "pimped my ride" xzibit style I got hooked.

  • Look man I'm not trying to defend Howard here or imply you're tech illiterate, or that all your issues clear up 100%, but have you by chance updated your driver's? Mine were out of date enough starfield threw up a warning which I ignored and was not having a good experience with the same as you(iunno your ram or storage config but I was running on an average NVME and 32 gigs ram with 5600x and 6700xt). But after I updated a lot of the issues smoothed out, not all, but most. At 60 fps average with a mix of med high at 1080p though. Maybe worth a try?

  • There have been plenty of times they were, though name any country with 200+ years of existence and I'll show you how they aren't the good guys either from certain points of view. Ask Africa how they feel about some of the perceived "good guys" in the EU

  • Well that's just not factually accurate. The accurate thing would be it causes so little wear and tear it might as well not count on the memory chips. But using ANYTHING causes wear and tear to build up eventually and a SSD has more points of failure than just reading and writing to the memory.

  • According to the people who made the rituals, it's clearly laid out in several different religious books what the entire purpose of the rituals within said book are for. Just because you experience a side effects doesn't make the side effect the purpose.

  • That's not what the story of job is about even if you are entitled to your own interpretation(which goes back to my original point about why it's all left to interpretation.) Job wasn't punished because he didn't pay attention to Satan. Satan was the little imp on his shoulder telling him all these things about how God isn't righteous and he has forsaken him. It all started simply because God bragged about how devout and awesome Job was for following his teachings to Satan and Satan said "yeah well you got it all wrong, he only is so devout because you've rewarded him. Take away his rewards and he shall hate you." And Job did for a while before the age old bull shit about having 'faith' came into play at the end where he just basically accepts he's a Stoopid wittle hoomen who can't understand God's grand plan....which as we know as the person granted insight into God's thinking, was a literal pissing contest between the devil.

As for placebo effects, I never commented on the effects being good or bad on their own, all I commented on is that just because they are a by product of participating in the ritual, they aren't the goal of the ritual.

  • And that's what I'm arguing it isn't for you. It's for them, the entire ritual(s) were made to show your submission and how much you are a good "follower" so they will show you favor. Look at the story of job, God burned all his shit, killed his family, all on a bet with the devil job won't still love God afterwards. And what does job do? Pray for forgiveness for what ever sin he's committed that supposedly pissed god off when the entire thing is a pissing contest between the devil and god.

Any inner peace or heightened senses you get are just a placebo from that ritual. Similar to the sports ritual like not washing your socks or having lucky underwear.
