  • In the words of sweet brown, ain't nobody got time for that. Some don't have the education for that. You also don't count all the errors people did take the time to correct, before or after posting.

  • I drive a 2013 honda civic (200k km). Because No monthly payments, thing works great and is super cheap to fix (most of which I can do myself).

Cars these days just aren't worth it, you get an EV or Hybrid and at the first repair it's 15k and you might as well throw it out.

  • I'm pretty sure she has a company do that for her. It doesn't stop the collusion, even if they were banned. I read somewhere most of the insider trading happens on the lower levels of companies and banks, because executives and other people are very closely monitored as well as their family.

Some have to divest completely like government officials, some have to make their trades public, but I don't think that applies to lawyers/judges, and definitely not everyone that in theory has insider information. You can go find and copy the portfolio of most powerful people.

I think government /executives shouldnt be allowed at all even through a company other than savings/retirement, judges and other position of influence (banks) should divest, and stocks should be left to the people. That's never going to happen

  • Sometimes the org itself is like a shitty client who doesn't understand.

Reminds me of this article Programming Sucks

Tom and Harry have been working together for years, but have an ongoing feud over whether to use metric or imperial measurements, and it’s become a case of “whoever got to that part of the design first.” This has been such a headache for the people actually screwing things together, they’ve given up and just forced, hammered, or welded their way through the day with whatever parts were handy. Also, the bridge was designed as a suspension bridge, but nobody actually knew how to build a suspension bridge, so they got halfway through it and then just added extra support columns to keep the thing standing, but they left the suspension cables because they’re still sort of holding up parts of the bridge. Nobody knows which parts, but everybody’s pretty sure they’re important parts.

  • Wait till they ban vaccines in the U.S. You won't hear big pharma complain, it's much more expensive to continuously treat than to eradicate/vwccinate or cure.

Big corpos are lining up for one hell of a 4 year feast, and it's going to take decades to undo the damage. Thanks Obama.

  • It's called "the spoiler effect" and it's detrimental to everyone in a 2 party system. Gotta change the system for that to work. It helps the opposing party, who are often happy to donate to that effort for that reason.
