  • Can't wait for the Right to recognize that if they normalize nullifying constitutional amendments with executive orders, the next Democrat president can just use that to nullify the 2nd Amendment that they're so terribly fond of.

Of course that assumes there will be another election some day.

  • Fucking wow... I had been telling myself that it was probably an out of context still, a photo that was a bad look for sure but it couldn't really be THAT bad.

It really is. It really fucking is that bad. There really is no excusing it, no depth of delusion that can cover it. It really is exactly what we thought it was.

  • The catch is that he doesn't put in a lot of time for any of those things. His parenting, for example. He acts like a father just long enough to wear his kid like a bulletproof vest, then fucks off again. In his role as CEO, he'll dip into a meeting where he's had all the people who actually do something waiting, he'll fart out some terrible ideas, make demands, and set deadlines based on nothing at all, and then fuck off again before anyone can point out that he's not actually useful.

He almost inevitably puts MOST of his time into either obsessing over Twitter or manipulating politics for personal gain. He's either shitting out more tweets nobody wanted or obsessing over how many people liked whatever shit he forced them to see, or he's waiving a novelty sized check over President Elect Dump and making demands like making real billionaires just pay negative taxes.

  • That doesn't mean making an effort to minimize harm is pointless, it just means you'll never get it to zero. Touting that phrase all too often turns into a band-aid to excuse less-ethical choices, just because someone's always getting screwed somewhere.

  • I also don't like that I'm not doing the things I should be doing. Yes, I absolutely do see that those things need to be done, no I don't think someone else is going to do them. Yes, I wish I would just get up and get it done too.

  • It would be hilarious that a senator from fucking ALABAMA is insisting that California needs reforms, if not for the fact that Tuberville is an absolute waste of oxygen. It's like hearing a funny stand-up bit and then learning it was performed by your brain tumor.

  • Alright folks, place your bets! Place your bets now and win internet points later if you have the gift of foresight!

( A ) Elon gets off completely free because the law doesn't apply to people with his kind of money.

( B ) Elon gets a slap on the wrist because the law "technically" applies to people with his kind of money, but not really.

( C ) Trump shuts the case down because he doesn't want his sugar daddy "buddy" Elon to get in trouble.

( D ) The SEC throws the book at him and Elon gets the maximum sentence, because Trump is fucking sick of the "President Musk" jokes.

  • The kind of people who would be bothered by being accused of "Virtue Signaling" are also the kind of people who are aligned with the rise of fascism and enabling of racism on the platform. But do go on acknowledging that working for Meta is itself an immoral position.

  • It's almost understandable to bend the knee in the hopes of avoiding the coming purges, but this goes well beyond just seeking corporate survival. Genuinely disgusting. It looks like the way forward for Proton will be lit by the bridges they're burning.

  • Have you not noticed any of the many things Musk has said and done to suppress things like civil and worker's rights? How he's sucking Trump's cock so he can dictate policy to the country? How he turned Twitter into an actual Nazi mouthpiece? That's what he's using his image to try to push.

  • Even when one of their own strongholds, Texas, was dying because the power grid failed because the weather was too cold, or when the power grid failed because the weather was too hot, the Right gave no shits about actually helping people. They absolutely aren't about to discover some shred of empathy when they think it's just "The Libs" who are burning.

  • It could be both, but be careful not to assume malice when apathy is much more reasonable.

Any thought they put into getting you to not poop on company time will run into the issue of it taking longer when you do anyway. Much more likely, they're just looking at hard numbers.

They see a number for facility costs, they see a way to make the cost number smaller, that's as far as their interest goes. "Make cost go down" is one of those simple motivations that can be directly linked to just about any managerial decision that doesn't instead connect to "Make revenue go up."
