From what I garnered this is revenue, not profit. Also comparing the companies to Apple, FB & Microsoft is not really a fair comparison. I know it was the Valve employees doing this. Probably a better choice would have been something like a restaurant chain or store like Walmart.

I am not really sure what ATSC3.0 brings that 1.0 doesn't have besides the codec features. I doubt it adds much on the bandwidth side.

Assuming the chips have a 32bit bus and are 2GB, that would be a 32GB 5090. Probably less on the lower models.

Shouldn't the math be degrees over ambient? So 22C would be (56C - 48C)/56C = 14%. Seems like marketable market speak.

I think that is debris. I tried using some 3-in-1 oil on 3 of mine and they work fine now. There is probably a better choice of lubricant though

I like this and for what it will likely cost I'd hope would have it. Other than scratches, dust, oils from touching, light and other contaminates are the biggest threat to longevity.

The leds can work for like 20 years. On the other hand the rest of the components are not necessarily going to last that long unfortunately.

The last like 3 computer cases have had blue power leds. They often are brighter than night lights. I have gotten to the point where I only connect the power button as the leds are so bright and the number of times I’ve inadvertently hit the reset button.

From what you have commented I would lean toward either a power issue or a pcie signaling issue. Are you running any kind of overclock? You could try underclocking and see if that stabilizes it as it won't draw as much power.

This really isn’t surprising. Their market cap was larger than the whole of the rest of the auto industry combined. Had to come back to earth eventually.

I would be willing to pay more as they are subsidizing the cost with the advertising. I have seen computer monitors are coming with ‘smart’ functionality now. Don’t want that.

I’d do some compute tests on a usb live system. Something like y-cruncher for instance. Could be all kinds of things. Power supply could be flaky, gpu, cpu,motherboard, storage. best suggestion is process of elimination.

Try using it with a gui and see if you can crash it if you don’t have alternatives for example. Check the storage’s smart health. Check dmesg. Ssh in when a crash happens if possible.

So the moral is use Firefox and not Chrome?!

Now everone expects you to be the maintainer. You get a lot of bug reports.

That estimate seems fairly high.

edit: Just to be clear, I'd be surprised it it is worth even $5Billion now.
