If it can be done manually, I don't see any reason it can't be done automatically. Other than just not wanting to allocate the person-power to it.

It is definitely Nouveau. NVK is just the Vulkan side of it. NVK is in a experimental level. I personally would not run it daily yet, ignoring the lack of some video features and dlss in games. They have made huge strides in the last couple years with it though,

Nouveau doesn't support power/load reporting yet. Some games will work better than others. Just because it is comformant does not mean it will be fast either. Comformance comes first then optimizations.

That said, it could still be running on the wrong gpu, but i don't know. My experience when I've tried it on my 4080 hasn't been mind blowing performance, but much better than before all this work started landing.

Yeah. No telling how many pleas just so they can get out sooner, but may not even be the guilty party or could have gotten a better deal. It is also easier to argue that you are doing something to better yourself, such as therapy or working for example, that may effect a sentence when you are not in jail.

Probably still better to take the lump and set up a trust with investments.

This is good. Less people in jail means less money spent there. That money can be spent elsewhere like in the community to prevent these outcomes in the first place. Unless the person is a danger to the community or a flight risk, they shouldn't really be a need to hold them. Shouldn't need to hold someone for say, being noisy(crappy ex), and they can't afford to pay, loose their job, etc etc.

What I found interesting is that the “Intel baseline” setting doesn’t seem to be the default. So if a builder sells a pc and manually sets it and the user needs to update/reset the settings to default, they will go back to unlimited.

Most of that sucks. Not the part where she loves her job type stuff though. Once you start going down the IL/IN border things start getting farther apart beyond small communities. Also it is super easy to make changes if it is just 1 or 2ish people, but once you get into relatives with possibly additional needs and sometimes kids with established lives and friend groups that one doesn't want to disrupt, making changes gets difficult.

I wonder how much media that would leave. Would that only apply to things that have images/video or would that include descriptions in books? That would include pretty much everything. Could end up like video rental stores where they had the adult section where children weren't allowed, except the section is the whole building.

Not sure if your distro version has a new enough version of systemd, but newer versions have a systemd-oomd service for that. It may not be enabled by default. On older versions you could try early-oom which is not part of systemd. OOM stands for Out-Of-Memory.

Yes, that should work as well.

Try adding to the fstab options uid=#### with the #### replaced with the user id you are using. If you are using more users other options may be needed.

Edit: also check 'man mount.cifs' for other options.
