Unfortunately if this is the only route to losing weight that is out of reach for many, many people who are already getting totally fucked by the system and struggling to get by.
I guess it depends right? If a show or movie or other piece of art continues to bring income in, where does that money go? Particularly when the team that created it have effected disbanded and therefore aren't technically on the same payroll that income is arriving on. I would argue it should not solely go to the owners of that production house.
Residuals makes sense in a way that doesn't really apply to engineering because typically engineers will remain at a company and their continued employment is how they continue to gain income from their work.
You could maybe say an actual equivalent would be engineers getting shares in their company, which would function the same as residuals. I think that is a more apt comparison.
Yep, I've just gotten a Pixel 7 Pro after 4 years with a Oneplus 8 Pro and really it's a very incremental change. The camera on the P7P is incredible, just astounding, but on the Oneplus it was amazing. Otherwise they're very much of a muchness.
I'm thinking I'll hang on to this one for another four years and hopefully by then foldable will be well tested and slightly cheaper.
Here's the advice I found somewhere else, it looks really good now:
I'm running a few lows and mediums, but the most important are textures at medium or high, models on medium and low, FSR on Ultra Quality and AA on the far option. The image quality becomes acceptable and it runs at 30 fps with ocasional dips.
I disagree. I think that is an overly simplistic view of the situation.
Some people buy iPhones and Samsung Ultras and whatever else. Some people use the same basic phone they had ten years ago. Both are valid. It's no different here, if you're happy with the free stuff then cool, if you want the very best Lemmy app which has had over a decade of development then also cool.
Saying that people are fools because they want to pay for the software they use and have made a value judgement to do so is absurd.
The hilarious thing is you can't post from Sync yet, only comment, so for every post about Sync someone had to use their browser or another app to post it.
My issue with the smaller instances is that I enjoy browsing Local, and this is typically not as active or interesting on there. Is there a way to browse lemmy.world's Local from another instance?
One of my favourite PCs ever was a light cleric who upcast Spirit Guardians and then strode around shooting off fireballs and warding flares.
