  • My daughter just got accepted to NYU and they are doing the same thing for people below $100,000. It is funded by a $20 million donation so there's not really a catch, except it's only for freshmen. I'm not sure what school will cost next year. The Vandy deal sounds better, I wish Vandy was her dream college lol

  • I don't disagree, but your estimate on what height they should be is off. Most car headlights are over 2ft off the ground. That's actually the minimum height in most states, so 99% of cars are probably higher than 24 inches

  • I met a guy who was married to his cousin and I had to google it too and found out the same thing. A lot of states allow marriage, and not just southern states as the stereotype would suggest. Here's the states that allow it: Alabama, California, Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, New Mexico, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, and Vermont.

  • Your store did it smart. My local grocery store has 8 self checkouts by one door and 8 more on the other end by the other door. Although there are 10 or more normal checkouts with human cashiers, Ive never seen more that two open at a time.

    1. I liked fooling with computers and installed it just to see what it was. I went through several distros over the next few years, Mandrake, Suse, Red Hat, compiled Gentoo from scratch, and finally settled on Slackware. It was my only OS for 14-15 years until I started a business in 2016 and needed software that's only available in Windows. I only use Windows on my PC now because my computer does weird boot stuff that screws up dual boots and I don't really use the PC that much anyway. I still use Linux on small servers for media and home automation
