Short form video content is a waste of Internet bandwidth and time. I don't want to watch any narcissist filming their face talking about anything. Same goes for youtube talking heads.
I upgraded my solar power setup with cheaper chinese LiFePO batteries and more panels recently, because the prices had never been cheaper and the future looks like not the best in that regard. The lithium batteries were actually cheaper for larger ones than the lead-based batteries I bought a couple years back.
Could it be that you just don't want to admit that you can't do anything about it?
As for me, I don't have any responsibility to push onto others about it. I accept the things that cannot change, and I have adapted to survive in the environment that I live in, and things are going generally well.
Blaming "capitalism" for all of society's problems is about as useful as blaming God or some gremlins. For example, if you're in the USA and you blame "capitalism" for your problems, then what are you gonna do about it? There is no path to change this society from capitalism to socialism or communism. We have entire armies of military and police who will ensure that the status quo stays in place. You also can't vote your way out of this. No candidates advocating such changes will be elected.
The best thing we can do is aim for better regulation of the systems that have allowed for the oligarchy to take it all over. Which won't be easy or quick at all but is at least somewhat possible.
It's really weird how you keep making this discussion about me as if I am the VR. It doesn't matter to ME that you are choosing to miss out on something great, so my skin is not part of the equation at all. I'm just here to let people know that you're wrong and that people can have a cool experience with that technology.
It's fine if you don't want one, but my VR headset get used daily and was a great investment. Once you get used to good VR games, the rest of the video games in 2D just begin to pale in comparison. One example is Assetto Corsa (racing sim) which I could not win any races in in 2D standard mode, but when I played in VR my 3D sense of distance allowed me to actually race competitively enough to win for a change. Also it's just pretty rad to drive racecars in full 3D view, getting the full experience of moving at high speed.
And it's absolutely not true that there's "no applications" for VR. You just don't know about them because you're against it. In my household the primary applications are gaming and exercise. There are a number of VR games that require the player to physically move a lot, enough to break a sweat on every session.
IMO the only thing wrong with Apple's Vision Pro is the high price. I spent $1000 on my VR system and that was a lot. So when you get into the triple-thousand dollar ballpark, your market is just too tiny to grow into anything soon.
They don't need it, it's all just security theater like the TSA. 99.99999% of children in the USA are not harmed by firearms each year. In fact, most "school shootings" counted in the Alarming Statistics are not mass shootings but any incident involving a gun in a certain radius of a school.
That is not true, it is completely possible with systems like Nextcloud and Owncloud. I have one set up at home and it's great.
The phone app auto-uploads your chosen pics directory's contents to your chosen cloud backup folder on a schedule or any time you want. And it's free software.
