  • Interesting that they're coming here. They are a common form of speed camera in the UK I believe, where they are generally hated. I'd love to see some data about their use and reducing crashes.

My concern is you could speed through an area, realize your mistake and pull over for 5 minutes, and avoid any fine. Perhaps this is an unwarranted concern, however.

  • Hmm yes, good points. I'll have another go with the previous filament.

To be fair, I need to replace the extruder and get a high flow nozzle anyway, which I think will make more difference to the flow rate than running hot.

  • What temperature are you printing at? When I was using Marlin I ran mine at about 200, and could probably have gone even lower. I also tuned linear advance which made a big difference.

I have found that some esun spools weren't particularly dry when I got them. They sit in my dehumidifier which sits at about 20%, so they get dry eventually.

You can try coasting as well I think.

  • Yeah it was rubbish filament. Switched it out for some esun PLA+ and got much better results. I've updated my post, but final settings are:

    Pressure Advance - 0.4 Retraction - 3.5mm Retraction speed - 35mm/s

    Very happy with the results!

  • Yeah I was wrong, I've edited my reply.

I agree with your suggestion btw. Charities should do charitable works. Being a church in on in itself a charitable works. We really need to move past religion as the most important thing.

  • Academics and Redditors just hate anything to do with Christianity and want to persecute Christians at every opportunity.

    What a stupid take.

It has nothing to do with their religion, and everything to do with running a for-profit organization under the guise of 'charity'. If the church they donate profits to does charitable works, they are a charity. Sanitarium benefits from tax-free status without actually doing anything to benefit society. Dave's post above shows this isn't correct. They pay no tax because they donate all their profit.

  • You've pretty much made all the points I wanted to, so I'd just like to add another couple of uses for Blockchain tech:

    • Smart contracts. You can design smart contracts that run on protocols such as Ethereum that are completely hands off once signed.
    • Completely transparent tracking of data or physical goods, or provenance of physical objects. This is the best use-case for NFTs. Imagine buying a piece of art and being able to check the complete purchase and sale record of that artwork.
    • Decentralized digital fiat currency. There is nothing stopping this from being a reality. Tx fees are set to encourage miners/nodes, but if a digital currency is run by a central bank this is not required as the nodes could be run by them. Imagine fee-free transactions as easy as any crypto, but it being identical to fiat currency.
