This is a "feature" that was only ever available in India. It still sucks, but that's a pretty rage-baity headline.

It's because they're all old. This is the way politics was done in the '90s. Either they don't know/can't see things have changed, or they don't care.

Same, but tearing down and rebuilding cities is a feature, not a bug. Well, except for the carbon emissions involved in doing that.

How about trains? Americans are too used to their cars for those long-range trips. Make them unnecessary. Have your car for local trips switch to trains for anything else.

I can't imagine Texas is actually going to care about the rules. What happens when a bus shows up outside specified hours or without the required notice? Is NY going to send them back or make them wait on the bus until the right time?

As water sources dry up, I can't imagine production won't drop. And building any more dams would be politically controversial.

There used to be a subway or Quiznos commercial that went something like, "'Cause nobody wants a salad on a bun." I would see it and think, "Me. I do. I want a salad on a bun." WTH's wrong with a burger that’s one 1/8th pound patty and 3 inches worth of solid lettuce?

Pensions, yes, though my father lost his sometime after he retired. I don't think the phone company was union, but Kodak likely was. Both parents were anti-union. Both were forced into retirement as Kodak passed on digital photography and phone companies started consolidating.

My Boomer parents had one of those "I'm spending my kids' inheritance" bumper stickers on one of their RVs and it was no joke. New RVs every couple of years, driving around the country part of each summer, new boats every couple of years, two timeshares, one in Branson, one on the gulf coast FL, two houses, one in the Adirondacks, one outside Orlando, flying back and forth twice a year, a new gold wing every couple of years. They don't believe they're rich.

My father worked his whole life as a telephone lineman, retired at 55. My mother worked swing shift in processing at Kodak. Neither started wealthy. My dad had to purchase my grandfather's farmhouse. My mother didn't inherit anything. And they didn't think one second about passing anything down.

Placing the blame on medical costs for the generation as a whole is letting them off the hook, again. Boomers are too selfish to pass anything down anyway.

The social services and community involvement are better in Indiana than they were (and appear to still be, though I no longer have direct experience there) in WNY. Health insurance was better in NY, though. If I go back to die there, it will only be for the sake of nostalgia and not any belief that the remainder of my life would be better.

Outside of NYC, NY is a red state. But will 100,000 have that great an influence on the electoral college? It doesn't sound like a lot in a population of 19 million.

These are the sorts of men that should be all over the news. This is where the media should put it's focus. How many others just like him have similar influence in other policy areas?

Ok, how about features of gadgets that aren't smartphones?

It's the difference between sitting down for 20 minutes unscrewing various components to get to the damaged battery you need to replace, vs. popping off the back cover and simply swapping out one dead battery for a charged one anytime you run out of power. The former is replaceable. The latter is swappable.

Like stinkyhat said, I'm seeing user avatars to the left of usernames, and community icons to the right of usernames. Those are all going to have individual meanings, if they aren't set to the default.

As for search, I'm in a web browser, and I don't find the UI to be very user friendly, either.
