They feel out of control because they ARE being exploited by systems that are designed to obscure the fact. They don't understand how anything works, because those systems have replaced their education with propaganda.

I very much do not want AR. There will be ads everywhere. What happened to the anger people had toward Google Glass and the feeling that people wearing them would be recording everything around them basically all the time?

As someone who remembers a time without even answering machines, let alone computers at home: yes, absolutely. We are definitely worse off.

I'm no republican, but I don't understand why any party should have any say over when a state holds it's primary. And I don't understand what the end-goal is to writing in Biden. If the point was to give the Dems the finger by holding a primary anyway (that won't count) why wouldn't you write in other Dems, instead of the candidate the party already supports?

Saying you're looking for a critical alternative sounds strange to this American. Here, that book is the critical alternative. It's the counterpoint to all the toxic conservative propaganda we're spoonfed daily. Propaganda that tells us that straight, white, Christian, American men are not only the saviors of democracy, but also the Universe, that God, guns, and money will save us all. That book tells the stories we're taught to deny. If it doesn't convince you, it's because it goes against everything America wants you to believe. If you're just looking to be mad, turn on Fox News. They'll tell you plenty of things that are "wrong" with America.

My adult son grew up on Minecraft. I think he was about seven when he started playing. By the time he was in middle school he was building working computers in it. He ran his own servers and met all his current friends there, from England and France and other US states. They don't play it anymore.

I've only played a couple times myself, but I still follow the Minecraft account on Facebook, because it was something he was interested in, and because my job is tangential to children. Even I can see how much it's moved toward Roblox and away from the creative sandbox it used to be.

I don't think it was ever a game for adults OR for children, but I definitely think they're making it for children now.

What makes this newsworthy?

What's the news angle, here? It's a tragedy, sure, but does the fact that someone died make it news?
