Ok so as someone who has always loathed twitter, I am irritated by journalists bemoaning the platforms irrelevance while still using it to lazily farm quick takes for their stories.

Don’t think twitter is relevant anymore? Stop using it. Governments and companies should stop using it too if they don’t see it as a legit social network anymore

Yeah I definitely think about this too. A string of vacant shops is like a cancer to a shopping strip: they just keep growing and growing in number.

OTOH if you lowered the rent temporarily to fill the shops, basically wouldn’t it be a case of a rising tide lifting all boats as you reinvigorate the area?

I find this so strange because in residential real estate there’s seldom any real relationship between a property’s value and the rent the owner charges.

How on earth is it better for a property to sit vacant for months upon months with a rent too high for the market, than for it to be leased constantly at a lower rent?

Don’t fuck with the Japanese justice system

It’s been about ten years since sports betting advertising has been permitted on TV in most Australian states. It has pervaded everything and made betting a normalised part of sport.

Most people hate it and want it gone, but clubs and networks are drunk off the money it provides so governments have been slow to move.

Please if your country doesn’t allow sports betting ads yet, put up a fight to stop it.

Yeah I’ve been using it for a couple of years and it’s matured a fair bit. But you’re right about being careful during updates, I always backed up my data before each one.
