It isn't just a few shots. There was one a really big, well-publicized attack a couple few years ago in the PNW somewhere, and the energy sector has been warned to take protective actions (but think of the shareholders now). There have been several dozen smaller events across the country.

I think, not to put words in anyone's mouth, that this person is looking for Greek or Roman Senate-levels of debate on the philosophies of democracy and an "elevated discourse". I'd imagine they think all this we're concerned with (you know, the future of democracy in the U. S.) is pedestrian.

I think the bigger issue this time is the potential for distributing the violence to smaller markets, so to speak - polling places, county clerk's offices, secretaries of state, even state houses when they vote to certify their state results.

This is exactly what is being done. My eldest child is in a Ph. D. program for human - robot interaction and medical intervention, and has worked on image analysis systems in this field. They're intended use is exactly that - a "first look" and "second look". A first look to help catch the small, easily overlooked pre-tumors, and tentatively mark clear ones. A second look to be a safety net for tired, overworked, or outdated eyes.

He's guaranteed to win because that county is batshit insane. In absolutely no system of justice should this shitbag have an ounce of authority.
