  • Colorado? I grew up here and worry I don’t know how good I actually have it. I wouldn’t know where to begin if a ballot didn’t auto-magically appear in my mailbox. The system backing it up is so good that when it doesn’t show up magically, a new one is a phone call and a short walk away.

If I don’t want to put a stamp on my ballot, I walk a half mile to drop it off

  • Yeah, the whole “it didn’t happen if it wasn’t reported to the police” thing is shit. There is unfortunately too long of a list of reasons as to why someone would be unable or unwilling to report these types of things and the attitude of the OP you’re replying to is on the list.

You would think after watching the droves of men and women coming forward during the me too movement would show people that coming forward at the time is extremely difficult and often not possible.

  • Yeah her tweets plus lining up the nearly all male executive team to talk about the things they are fixing, which made no mention of the issues raised about employee treatment wasn’t a good look. Especially when they keep making a joke about firing on of them (maybe an ongoing LTT joke that I’m not in on).

They all had dead eyes and looked like they were reading from a teleprompter

  • It is that simple. Make the dns entry point to your vpn subnet 10.10.100.X. The way it works is anyone not on your vpn won’t be able to resolve the ip address and will get an error. Anyone on the vpn will be able to resolve the ip address and connect via the vpn connection.

The part people are talking about that is likely confusing you is that if your service is already available via your actual ip address 1.2.3.4 then you have a security concern since anyone can access 1.2.3.4 even without your domain name pointing there. They are encouraging you to make sure your 1.2.3.4 network doesn’t allow access but updating your firewall settings to make sure it blocks connections that are not made via your vpn subnet of 10.10.100.X

  • This feels to me like a work project where management promised it done next month and it will reasonably take a year to finish. Otmar the middle manager kept insisting it will take a year but upper management doesn’t care and thinks that replacing the middle managers will somehow speed up the timeline. From my experience this delays the original year long timeline and worsens the overall end product.

I feel bad for the Alpine employees who are being subjected to this thrash .

  • It’s almost like we should regulate the industry to ensure that no one party in the deal is abusing the other. Taxis are regulated and can’t charge surge rates for a reason, when you are stuck somewhere and there are only a couple options to choose it isn’t a balanced market and therefore needs the state to ensure fairness

  • Yeah I think that would give me essentially the same access that I have now but through a GUI. I’m hoping for something that will cram my logs into a data store of some sort and present them on a GUI with search, filter, aggregations, etc…

  • In the alphabet, does the letter P not intimidate the S? It’s large beak protruding out towards the S like the razor sharp beak of a vulture. You can see the marks left by their epic battles in the carved out sections of the S.

Tale as old as time really

  • I literally lived two block away from one of the Denver safe outdoor spaces. So you have no idea at all, and I actually know. You’re not from here, you have no experience with the homeless situation in Denver or the many things we are trying as a community to fix it. You are just talking out of your ass.

I’m sorry you’re blighted by those with less than you, seems to be a big issue for you. If only we could lock all the poors away to make you feel better.

  • Seriously. I hate that some rando has to step in because the people who are literally there to step in either can’t or won’t.

When did fucking around on planes stop being followed by finding out? This guy had zero consequences after being so overt about it that a separate third party intervened.

  • This is a very typical shit ass response. We’ve had great success in having permanent and semi permanent living spaces in existing neighborhoods. Even the NIMBY assholes like yourself who initially sued to prevent it have changed their tune. There also has been no increase in crime with these either.

Maybe take a minute and consider what you would want if you were homeless. In the US you are much closer to being homeless than you think.
