  • It's really inefficient. A stove has all of the heat being concentrated to one spot while a car has a whole cooling system spreading out and dissipating the heat, and cars are more efficient at that than in the 70s. Having enough heat to cook with is generally bad for an engine so by design you would want it to cool before it's that hot.

I have had a few coworkers who put their lunch containers in their engine bay so that it would heat up for lunch though, that was for a job that had us driving around to 3-7 jobs in a day.

  • The same way the laugh track in sitcoms ques the audience to know that something was supposed to be funny. Try watching those shows without the laugh track and see how funny they feel or how often you laugh

  • Idk I think it makes perfect sense. Think of the oligarchs as someone actively firebombing the house in your analogy. It's not just about getting the leg unstuck but stopping the ones causing the biggest issue

  • You don't seem very knowledgeable about the gun used in this situation.

All articles about what was found on him kept mentioning a metal slide and barrel along with a regular Glock mag, that heavily implies it was just a 3d printed Glock lower so basically just a regular Glock. The only way it would "leave no special markings on the bullet" would be if he used a gun with a plastic barrel, but I believe the FBI said shortly after the og liberator was released that it leaves enough plastic behind to be traceable.

In practice the gun is a regular Glock, that would be easily identified as not being legal in a few states. My guess would be that they weren't getting rid of it because it's still a perfectly serviceable firearm and he might have been planning on using it again or at least it probably seemed like a good thing to have when he was in fight or flight mode.

If you really want to get rid of evidence the metal barrel is going to be the most important thing to get rid of as far as being linked to a shooting. Ghost gun is just bad in general unless you are in one of the states that says it's fine

  • While I don't know much about video cards, the IBM Monochrome Display Adapter (MDA) is often called the first video card and had a couple of contenders for first that were either designed earlier or released at almost the same time in 1981 and were all for displaying text only. The first GPU card sold to the public was the GeForce 256 in 1999. I'm assuming there's some in between that were not really used by the public that would have been used in movies and whatnot.

The reason why nobody was selling GPUs before Quake was because quake was THE first 3D game. Doom and other games before Quake were 2.5D and didn't have 3D models only sprites. Games before Quake essentially mimicked 3D while Quake IS 3D

  • I'd argue that quake did far more for 3D graphics then it did for FPS. Like Doom is what got FPS into the spotlight even though Wolfenstein 3d came first. Like quake is pretty much what made real 3D possible and doable on the hardware of the time thanks to everything going on under the hood
