  • Samhain was co-opted (into all hallows eve) by Christians to convince more celts to convert, wasn't it?

Edit: I just realized I "well actually'd"... Sorry about that. LOL

  • I went to 5 guys yesterday. Me and 2 little kids. $50.

    Fifty.

I can definitely do without beef.

The way grocery prices are going, I can do without chicken and fish and pork too.

Time to break out the bean recipes.

  • At this point it's not even just that, it's actually very petty and childish.

  • Right? I tried it out with a friend of mine that has an Apple device, I have Android, and we were joking about Apple shutting it down within a few days. Lo and behold it took only 3 days.

  • Let me know when you land on something. I have similar issues and am looking to divest from Spotify.

I like the functionality of Spotify, but the payment is painful.

  • I see what you're saying. It's definitely bullshit to accept compromise at the moment. Like I said in another reply I don't see anything about them saying a particular gender should make a particular compromise but the idea of compromising with fascists is not okay. I see how they're trying to nudge the reader rightwards.

    Thanks.

  • Agreed. Just read the article on https://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:https%3A%2F%2Fwww.washingtonpost.com%2Fopinions%2F2023%2F11%2F22%2Fmarriage-polarization-dating-trump%2F

Because archive.is wasn't working. Looks like the Fair article is relying on people not being determined enough to get past the paywall and read/think for themselves.(an assumption, granted)

The way the article is written, I believe one's bias going into the article would more likely determine which gender you think needs to compromise than anything about the article says. My feeling is that the men had best get their heads on straight unless they want to be basement dwelling and involuntarily celebrate. Maybe that's just me.

Ninja edit: I agree with other statements about wapo pushing the reader rightwards.

  • Fair. The second option then, dissolve the corp. and have done with it.

  • I feel guilty for bringing kids into this world, friend. That's why.

  • I have been playing with another person and we were both confused. just guessed my way through it.

  • Or just whenever a corp. kills a person, the CEO goes to prison. Not the Marriott prison but standard prison with AD-SEG and shankings and stuff.

    Actual accountability would be great.

Or better yet, treat corporations like persons. Fully. Put them on trial, if found guilty, dissolve them.

  • Aren't we on track for 9°c or something like that?

I feel sad for my kids. Also guilty.

  • I feel the same. It's constant. I don't have answers.

  • I feel ya. All this just lends to increased dispair. Kierkegaard would be disappointed.

  • this would harm the US' ability to print obscene amounts of money in a crisis with minimal effect on domestic prices.

    How? I don't understand.

  • Israel is clearly a bad actor here. Both sides committed war crimes and this is a generational hatred on both sides. Hatred exists on both sides too. I'm not a fan of either side because I'm not a fan of generational hatred.

At the same time, being able to hold to opinions at once, I believe that Israel has been allowed to run roughshod over the Palestinian people and that imbalance of power is injustice beyond what I personally can imagine.

That said, the US should've stopped Israel. That's bullshit. Apparently the US government can't find money for education, roads, or health care but there's no problem killing Palestinian kids.

Really lays bare the priorities. It's disgusting, appaling... Actually, no I don't have words for but it is.

  • And teach your children to hate the enemy as soon as they comprehend language. Don't forget that. That part is crucial.
