When I try to fiddle with them they just start producing a hellish noise that breaks my ears in a certain configuration, I had that happen both on Jabra earbuds and Soundcore headphones, luckily the latter has a wire option as well so that's a relief

There's something that doesn't click in the article, they say:

But just before that they link to the Wikipedia article:

support for the Proposition 8

Which states:

Proposition 8 [...] was a California ballot proposition and a state constitutional amendment intended to ban same-sex marriage

So I fail to understand how this:

Could be possible, I tried searching for their blog post, since the author didn't link it anywhere, but not knowing who they are I wasn't able to find anything. It could be true, but still, Mozilla isn't the whole California, if they are treated well due to company culture good for them, but that isn't an excuse to let gay people be discriminated outside of Mozilla

It seems to me like what everyone thinks is right, even if the proposition were made to "declare marriage a union of man and woman" it would just be a roundabout way to say "declare union between man and man/woman and woman not marriage" so... ban same-sex marriage?

Ok I can agree with that, I also don't like Bitcoin specifically, but there are other cryptocurrencies which actually have a use and, at the cost of energy of course, empower the users (for privacy, currency transfers, etc.), from what I know only Monero is really worth their salt in that regard as it also uses a proof of work algorithm (RandomX) that is purpose built to be unprofitable to run on power hungry ASICs

Not really, the endgame is the same, the greedy corporations will exploit the planet's resources until they're dry and then they'll wipe their tears with the money they made in the process, the core issue is really putting sustainability in front of everything else, because not doing so is what deals the real damage

Maybe you'd use some other crypto, but that aside, while cool in theory, the whole Lemmy would probably have to be reworked from the ground up to rely on the blockchain you're thinking of like Nostr (sorry, I don't know what gave me the impression that it was a blockchain). It should be possible to add the function in the current architecture instead, a bit like Misskey and others add extras such as reactions
