  • This is the first time I'm hearing about either of these YouTubers. Is the one from this particular video known for using clickbait tactics?

A few minutes in and it does look like the other content creator is clearly sourcing his scripts from others. Is there more to the story?

  • Depends on the bank and what kind of notifications you want.
Some banks only allow certain types of notifications to occur through the app.

  • Notifications and Mobile Deposit are the 2 features from banking apps that I find compelling.

  • Part 1 also shows some evidence of fake contestants (who are actually actors) that end up winning the prize.

  • Relevant xkcd:

If only they had published all of their null results...

  • Wow, a mouse with an extra button that can only be used to launch some process which opens up a window to ChatGPT. What a great use of AI!

  • Instead of using Imgur, I've been uploading images to posts on Lemmy and then linking to those on Reddit with my comment.

Haven't had any issues doing that.
The downside to this is, if the instance shuts down, those images won't be available.

  • You can take that line even further,

What if only the intro fanfare was created with AI?

What if only one creature in the film is created with AI and everything else was done using pre-AI tech?

What if certain body parts of that creature were generated with AI, but the rest was then created/merged normally?

What if an overall shape was initially created with AI, but then the artist just used this as a base to start from and spent more time reworking it to their intended vision and no part was left untouched?

What if a green screen was used, and then AI was used to touch up the edges around the subject and the background?

What if AI was used to help brainstorm some ideas by the writer (as in they didn't just copy/paste the output from the LLM)?

  • Really good article discussing the unfortunate trend where

a lot more people are trying to push gamers to play games that aren't really designed to be played for months on end.

Some other great quotes in there, the whole thing is worth a read.

  • The list of apps that were found to have this malware:

    • AirFS
    • Astro Explorer
    • Amber
    • CryptoPulsing
    • Brain Matrix
  • Yeah, I mean it sounds like too many users hiding behind a VPN were posting the kind of stuff that no admin wants to deal with and they got sick of it. So in that sense, I get why they did it. It's just unfortunate that VPNs get bad rep because of abuse like that.

  • Hopefully people adopting VPNs en masse will start pressuring services to better support VPN traffic.

Maybe even lemmy.world will one day officially allow posts/comments from those behind a VPN.

  • GrayJay has also been very quick to push updates. I haven't had any issues watching YouTube videos on there. Hopefully more content creators will continue to spread out across multiple services so that there's better competition with YouTube.

  • That must be it! I'm not seeing it that way through Voyager. Thanks!

  • The source code for GrayJay is available if you're concerned or want to work on a non-mobile app/service yourself, but otherwise I don't know of anything that combines the services like that.

  • A fun Easter egg on Chromium browsers is that, when you get to 100 tabs, the number just turns into a smiley face.

  • Blocked who? Blocked what? The first account listed on there is still actively posting.
