  • uMatrix is back on Firefox Mobile. Finally. I cannot understate how happy that makes me. uMatrix is the most important addon for me, even edging out uBlock. It is the addon, that, more than any other, made me feel like I am truly in control what my browser loads and what it doesn't. NoScript just can't compare. If anything, I wish I could even block scripts from the same source individually. More and more websites roll out scripts that are needed to make the site functional and scripts that lock the site behind some sort of paywall from the same source. That is the only time uMatrix fails me. For every other occasion, uMatrix still works perfectly.

  • I am no fan of US interventions, but I find it interesting that apparently the US Navy had left the red sea for a while, but the Iranian marine seemed to be emboldened by the absence of US ships and started harassing commercial ships, prompting the US Navy to send a presence back into the red sea.

  • The EU is in a constant struggle for its direction. Discounting it as a lost cause only allows malicious actors free reign. On the one hand, EU regulators take on tech monopolies, like forcing Microsoft to un-bundle Windows and Edge/Bing. And european courts have repeatedly struck down legislation that would allow for indiscriminate data retention.
On the other hand, the EU politicians are currently trying to sneak through a law that would force browsers to accept state-issued root certificates, allowing them to spy on and alter any and all internet communication, basically upending the trust-based system that keeps the internet secure currently. This law is part of the eIDAS initiative.
And I'm sure that with the new, EU-driven right to repair initiative, the train manufacturer will be forced to back down soon too.

  • Ukraine doesn't have to kill every single military conscript. First of all, many of those 1mil. russian troops are working logistics. Second, an army isn't beat when all of its men are dead, but when morale breaks. So what needs to happen is that Ukraine gets enough material to crush russian assaults for long enough to convince the russian cannon fodder to not attack anymore. And the military support needs to be sustained to indicate to Putin that he can't out-wait the support, but will have to strike a deal before his army gets overpowered.

  • i think it works too well because it resets Firefox entirely, like it will even remove extension data if i did any modifications to them,

I had the opposite issue a while back, cookies weren't being deleted at all. I had to start over with a fresh profile to fix it.

  • Putin pulls out all the stops to allow for a massive, continued campaign. Yet the EU and the US are slowly letting Ukraine bleed dry. There hasn't been a conflict in recent history that was both as black-and-white, with a clear aggressor and a clear victim of agression, and as close as Russia's invasion. And even with those near-perfect conditions, which would allow for decisive action from the West, they still would rather freeze the conflict, because that's the more opportunistic thing to do.

  • This belief that Asari use their psychic powers to manipulate people is based solely on a scene of three drunk dudes sitting around a table and watching an Asari stripper. I'd hardly call that conclusive evidence.

Also, if that theory were true, it'd have knock-on effects that quickly spiral out of control. If Asari would use psychic powers to make everyone believe they look like the viewers' race, then what happens to recorded media? What happens if anyone ever decides to draw how Asari look to them, only to then find out that others see Asari completely different? What happens if you try to touch an Asari? Do Elcor see Asari as Elcor-like? And Hanar see Asari as floating squids? How would that work with the statue on Thessia? And what range would those psychic powers have? And if those psychic powers had a lasting effect on the brain of those affected, how come no doctor or medical computer ever noticed that? And what do people see that watch media of Asari, but had never met Asari in real life?

No, I think the scene in question just shows three drunk guys seeing what they want to see.
