  • We do? Urinals with manual flush are rare. These days there's either a motion sensor, or a flushless urinal installed.

  • Sounds like a waste of water. Why not simply use motion sensors or flushless urinals like they do in the US?

  • That's a great way to explain it. Completely takes you out of the immersion every time "Mission Failed" pops up as the director yells "cut!" "Retry and this time stay on the path!"

  • I'll never understand why Nintendo hates their fans so much. Just because Japanese copyright law is shitty, doesn't mean that you have to be equally as shitty.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there is a law forcing Nintendo to enforce copyright. They willingly choose to be assholes.

  • Because the bin is full and if I don't, I'll be stuck with it for the next two weeks while the GF berates me over the smell.

As someone who used to work retail and in the restaurant industry, I feel bad, but the trash men always pick it up regardless and they get paid a hell of a lot more than I do, so my empathy can only extend so far.

  • Couldn't agree more with the "outdated mission structure" comment. For a game series that's supposed to be about doing whatever the fuck you want, it sure is irritating when the game forces you to play the campaign exactly the way Rockstar wants you to.

Nakey Jakey sums up my feeling on Rockstar games quite nicely. I hope R* has the sense to address this issue in GTA VI, but I won't hold my breath.

(Still going to buy it when it inevitably drops on PC, if for no other reason than to play the eventual SixM multiplayer mod. And who knows, maybe GTA Online won't have so many dropouts and endless loading screens this time...)

  • Yup. Take universal internet access and combine it with the handful of megacorps that control the modern web; with that combo it has never been easier for shitty people to come together and reinforce each other's shitty beliefs.

  • I'm glad that you found a medication works for you. Happy to hear that the dark thoughts are gone. I've been searching for over 20 years to no avail.

I'm not going to kill myself but I am tired, oh so tired. I just want to be able to wake up one day and feel like everything is okay, without immediately turning to substances the moment I wake up on a work day.

Tried sobriety for a month, and lost my job because of it. Without weed and Kratom I literally cannot function in the workplace. Some minor inconvenience happens; I lose my shit and quit. But when I'm buzzing everything is just fine. Not great, but good enough to get through the day. It's pathetic. I just want to be able to feel good like my coworkers do naturally. I want to socialize and make friends instead of isolating myself all the time, even with drugs.

I'll look into "Headspace"; thanks. (Is it an app?)

  • You can "get over" depression? Please tell me how. I can't find a single prescription pill nor therapist that helps, so I just vape live resin and shove Kratom powder down my throat to get through the day.

  • Shit like this is why I hate when people take pictures of me with their phones. I go out of my way to protect my privacy and block trackers on my device much as I can.

Meanwhile regular, everyday people are voluntarily uploading my photo to Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, or any other number of random, sketchy websites that I have no control over, as they scan my face to add to their database of where I've been and what I'm doing.

  • Checks out. As I read more of it, I did notice that I had already read this article weeks ago. Wonder why OP decided to repost it now...

  • Hasn't it been almost a week since it came back online? The fuck is this article on about?

  • Why are you using low settings on an RTX 4080? On a 4090 I can max out every setting and the game runs like a dream. Is the 4090 really that much more powerful or do you have a logical reason to turn down the settings so much?

  • I thought we did it because back in the day gifs were the most convenient way—and often only way— to post a short video clip on multiple websites. Lazy people would screencap them, not knowing/caring that they were limited to 256 colors (which is why we use dithering for gifs).
