I mostly meant the base level shit with text files and ridiculous APIs. Converting from one servicing system to another sounds kind of fun, though. I've always enjoyed doing horrible things to data. The most recent one I heard is there's a drag and drop visual coding tool that I'm told can't export to apex - just make calls to it.
It's pretty normal for people. Anti-auth positions are terrifying to many. How will I feed my dogs if there's no Purina? Forest for the trees and all that. What fucks me up is I come from an ethical position, so I don't actually care how we solve problems so long as it's voluntary.
You asked us and we told you to make it, so I'm pleased. I haven't cancelled my sync for reddit subscription. Will that keep going to you, or will it cancel at some point?
I've gone through this a few times. When he (and his users) realized he wasn't going to continue developing Sync for reddit, he asked us what to do. We requested the Lemmy app. He's always been super receptive to us and we're comfortable supporting him. He's developing it alone and got fucked by a company trying to inflate themselves to cash in on an IPO.
It's kind of amusing to me because he asked us what to do and we asked him to make a lemmy app. Part of his decisionmaking is that he knows many of us are willing to reward him for what he does.
That's a massive question for someone to answer in a lemmy comment. There may be a variety of alternative systems that can work. Trade and society are forms of technology that we've halted progress on by locking ourselves into archaic systems of governance.
Just give people that reply a little latitude and understand no one person can fully describe a full system that took thousands of years of civilization could be replaced.
People have checked. The only data collection is for ads, and it doesn't load the module at all if you have ads disabled.
