He's a Senator. This doesn't just affect Vermont. Having yet another Senator over the age of 85 will absolutely make a difference to me! I just can't vote on it because I live in Ohio.
I do. I blame him. How are we supposed to cultivate the next generation of progressive leadership when the previous one refuses to leave?
And I don't care if it’s ageist. 80 year olds have no business being in positions this important. I’m sick of seeing people being literally wheeled into the Senate chambers to cast votes before being sent back to a hospital.
It’s Vermont. How likely is it that a republican’s going to be elected if he doesn’t run? I can’t even process why Bernie wants to be working when he’s 88 but that’s what he’s setting himself up for.
I don’t like being governed by people who are 40 years my senior. Bernie is no exception. Time to pass the torch.
He pretty much said that exactly. Told people days ago that Israel was gonna raid Rafah regardless of any ceasefire deal. Surprised talks didn't break down right then and there.
It's not difficult at all, these companies just have no reason to do it that way. They force you to agree to their terms before you can use the website at all, which means they're in a much better position to make demands. We can't counter with anything, it's just "agree that we own this copy of your content".
And most of us agree to it because we have no way of knowing that someday our content might actually be worth something.
To be fair, the amount of things being held exclusive is really growing recently. I finally gave up on paying for TV to watch sports because every league wants to have their own subscribers and are blacking out more and more games. Can't watch NBA games live on YouTubeTV, have to pay an extra $20 if I want to watch the local basketball and baseball teams through their own app.
I'm done trying. I'm just gonna pirate the streams or go watch at a bar.
In the intervening two years, the various Linux distros have done nothing to address their copyright- and license-infringement issues.
For a guy who’s gotta be at least 20 years older than me (I’m almost 40) he seems kinda naive about how the law works in the real world. Lawyer up or fuck all’s gonna change.
This guy has a strong passion for screensavers, I’ll give him that. His feelings about Wayland were quite the read. Not sure what’s going to end up happening but the Wayland train doesn’t seem like it’s slowing down at all.
Progress takes time. I wish I could say this is one of those more positive elections but this is literally a repeat of 4 years ago and we’re gonna be hearing the same talking points all fall. I certainly understand how people can feel overwhelmingly apathetic about our prospects.
It helps to look beyond the couple of issues you’re most passionate about and consider the whole platform. While the differences may seem minor when it comes to something like Israel, they’re definitely not the same and would handle this situation differently.
But at the end of the day, no one can force you to vote for either one. Abstention is always a choice. Just don’t skip out on local issues because those can impact change just as much as anything else.
The ultimate issue is exactly what you said; phones exist. I’m not carrying another voice assistant around when both Siri and Google Assistant can be installed on my phone.
Based on MKBHD’s review this whole product category definitely screams “solution in search of a problem”
Once you’re charged with a crime that’s all some people think of when your name comes up. Even worse that some family members get dragged down by it too.
And all thanks in this instance to John Ashcroft and the W administration 🤦♂️
OK so what's the logical conclusion here? Bernie has to stay in office until he literally dies because his seat might go to a Democrat?
