  • Maybe that's the whole point: People love to show off about being part of some super exclusive group

  • I don't think that we have to discuss how much superior LaTeX is over Word. Typst on the other hand is a new approach in the whole typesetting language space. It's syntax is very similar to markdown but it provides (almost) everything you would expect from LaTeX with the benefit of a far more organized, intuitive and efficient workflow. You may visit their website typst.app to get more detailed info.

  • Nice story. There are a lot more cryptos and blockchains that aim to disrupt the current centralized systems. It is rather easy to distinguish between real cypherpunk rooted projects and other useless shitcoins.

  • You are so right about this... Unfortunately...

  • Well it is also a document format just like .tex. I think it's called .typ or smth...

  • Holy shit whats up with all these guys hating here on cryptos? As if all of them would be the same. Sure better go to daddy bank...

  • This is simply not true. Just look at server side software like OpenStack, the Linux kernel, various file systems, ... These solutions are all free software and they are thriving because big comapnies rely on them. They support these project not only financially but they also contribute code and improve them that way.

  • Hey this is exactly what I was looking for some days ago. Then an app was published on flathub called Muktiplex. It allows you to download and stream torrents directly through mpv. I watched Ahsoka only through this but I have to warn you: it is very new and it can crash sometimes but other than that it just fills this usage gap perfectly!

Edit: I have seen all the other comments and they either propose no solution at all ("just download the torrent") or they name some proprietary websites which also didn't really work for me. So I really think Multiplex comming as a nice looking gtk flatpak has a great potential.

  • Yeah most of the times I just included them all unless I really didn't need them (some architecture specific stuff or a specific protocol)

  • RTFM, no seriusly just try to follow the arch install wiki and try to get acquainted with the terminal and the tools used.

  • Exactly, thats what I said. OP should better focus on learning the basics which is by far faster on arch.

  • Mama, dieser Mann sprich aber ein lustiges deutsch :)
