  • It really does seem that the powers that be have forgotten. The right to strike is a compromise with management to avoid damage to company property and intentional sabotage. To quell the anger and violence.

These rights were paid for with blood, and they will be again if needed.

We are angry again. And they're gonna test us.

  • That's also why I can say I didn't care about the show that episode is a part of.

It stands on its own, and it could have been a footnote, or a few lines. A heartfelt scene, some light sorrow.

I'm so glad they chose to give it a full episode.

  • I think this is because he was still learning how to act and taking it seriously.

In his later classics, he had developed his persona, which included maintaining his Austrian accent that was so key to his brand.

In a sense, he now mainly plays that character, and any other roles are seen through that lens. But with Conan, he was more flexible of an actor.

  • I was so invested in the OT... and no more movies came, so I accepted there wouldn't be more movies.

As such when they came out and were shitty, I didn't mind as much.

That's made it easier for me to dip in and enjoy some of the new content. I'm not expecting it to be good, and can be surprised when it is.

  • In 1983 or so I bought a Japanese themed RPG for the Apple IIe published by EA.

It didn't like the disk drive we had, so the copy protection would reboot over and over.

There were only two models of disk drive for the Apple IIe.

EA has always been this way.

  • Hurricane in Florida in the 80s, but I was far enough inland to not be in danger. The eye of the storm is really spooky. Complete and utter silence.

Also the 1991 snowstorm in Duluth MN. Started snowing on Halloween and didn't stop for three days. We had four feet of snow in the yard.

That was a lot of fun, the town was paralyzed for a couple of days until the plows started to get things in order.
